Let's explore the library module in Lightroom. So if you put in some images previously, now it's time to have a look around the library module. So when you look in Lightroom interface, what do you already know is you've got these different modules and libraries. The first module, you can set in your towards the top right corner of the screen in here. So let's have a look at the elements of the library module. On the left hand side, first, you're going to see the navigator panel here.
If you don't see anything, just select an image. So I'm going to select one of the images. Maybe this one for example. And in navigator panel, you can see the preview of the image. Right. You can also zoom in on the images navigator.
I'm just going to double click on the image first in here to go to take it into Libya. Alternatively, you could use this Live View icon here at the bottom. So in the navigator panel, we can use these options here to zoom in. So for example, you can jump straight to hundred percent preview of the image By clicking 1212 This is 100% view of the image, we can pan around the image and here in the focus was mark here. Okay, you can also pan around the image using this navigator panel. So you can just click and drag in here when you see the hand icon, so you can just pan around, okay.
You can also zoom into almost any magnification. So you can zoom into 50% view, or 33% view or 200% view and so on. I usually use that for 50% view. So we'll set that to one to two. So if we go to hundred percent, or 50% Okay, it's going to switch back to fit or another option here the fill will fill the entire width of this document window here. Okay, so this is the Phil Phil will not show some part The image like the bottom at the moment in here, fit will show the entire image.
I could fit in view, set and fill is something that you might be familiar with from Photoshop. Okay, so it's navigator panel. Below the navigator panel, you have the catalog panel here, it's in the catalog panel, you can just see how many photographs you've got. We're going to talk about collections later. And previous import is the last import you did. So you can see some different numbers as we progress through different exercises.
Basically, the last time you imported the images, this is your previous input, which is a great feature because you can quickly access the last set of images, okay, or you can access all your images by clicking all photographs, which in this case doesn't make any difference because one of the 14 images so far, but will be important, some more images, because we don't suffice. We've imported the images from a memory card. But we're going to import some images from hard drive as well. We'll explore explore the options a bit more. For now we'll just import images from memory card because that's what you typically do when you start working with Lightroom importing images from external hard drive. Later.
Below the catalog panel, you have the folders panel in the club's navigator for now that we can see the folder we imported images. So we imported images into a folder called day one and when you move the cursor over it, you can see where the folder is located. So mine is in pictures folder. In my images. subfolder is called the one that's recorded in one of the earlier videos. And I've got 14 images in here.
Once you get lots of folders, which we'll get to soon, you can access the images really quickly. I'll go to collections. We'll be covering collections in later sections or have the entire section for collections. So we'll leave it for now. And we'll publish services which we'll cover later on as well. We can publish images for Facebook or Flickr or behance, Adobe behance or hard drive.
We'll get to it later on. Just the input button here in the bottom left corner, which we used to import images earlier. And as an export button when we get to publish an exporting welcome as well. Okay, at the bottom of the screen, you've got a filmstrip. Okay. We'll cover that later.
Okay, you can see how many images you have. So with 14 photos, and one is selected, this is a good indication to see how many images you have selected. And this is the name of the image this selected my images, co seven.ri F. And this is the image in the filmstrip. You can finish up the Select images just like that they've highlighted in the grid view as well. Okay, we'll explore these Well, we've done comparing images, right, so you know about the grid view, and live view and compare you and serve you as well. Now, this one here, the people is new in Lightroom CC, so we'll get to it soon.
We'll get to the paint as soon as well. Okay. Now when you saw the images, you can choose how you want to saw them. So it can be sorted by capture time by default, from the oldest to the newest. We can also change the sort order so you could says hey, I want to sort them by the file type. You can see it because it's below the screen can also make the finals bigger or smaller.
So I'm going to keep them quite small just so we can see more. So five in a row, okay. And now we're moving on to the right hand side in here. Okay, there's quite a few panels in here. So we're going to move on to these in the next video.
