So let's go ahead and open Kenna Master, this is the homepage that you'll land on. Over on the right. These are projects that you've already started that you can continue editing. If this is your first project, of course, you'll have just blank boxes here. Over here, you have some different options. This one will go to Kenna masters YouTube page where they have tutorials.
Here, you have a Help section, they've got great support, you can email them, they get back to you very quickly. They've got great info on their website. So definitely check that out. If you get stuck on something. Over here, you have settings, don't worry too much about this. We'll kind of go through these as they make sense throughout this class.
And over here you have your Asset Store. This is a really cool thing kind of master offers. There's all these things you can you can download and put into your production. So they have stickers effects, different text, cool, different tags. They have a bunch of music you can use that's royalty free and we'll use some of these As we go, they have sound effects. And then this is the big button you'll push to start a project.
So let's go ahead and do that. If you've just shot your video horizontally, you're going to do a 16 by nine, if you shot it vertically, you're going to go nine by 16. This would be for Instagram story, Facebook story, something like that. And then you have a one by one square that would be for Instagram specific video. But Instagram also will take these other types of videos. So hopefully you shot horizontally, you're gonna push that, and then you're gonna land on this page, which is where you'll actually start doing your editing.
So the first thing we need to do when we get here is get our media or clips into this so that we can start editing. The way you do that is by clicking this media folder up here. You'll notice it's really the only thing you can click everything else is grayed out. So we'll click on that and it's going to take you to this screen. If you look over here on the left, you've got video and photos. These two things link to your photo reel on your phone.
So, I'm going to hit video, I'm going to come down to my albums. I'm going to scroll down to that hike album that I made. And then I'll see all my clips there. So once you've gotten here, you need to get your clips from this window into your timeline, which is down here. The way you do that is simply clicking on them. I'm going to click click, click, click, click.
And you might get a little warning like this, just say add, it's fine. And then now all my clips are in my timeline, which is exactly what we want. Once you're there, you can hit this check mark button to get out of that. And then we're back on our editor screen here. So let's go over the parts of this. This left window is your video.
This is your preview window where you're going to see your footage playing. Down here is your timeline. This is where all your footage lives, that you put in your project. You see, I just did this with my fingers, you can pinch in and out. This is zooming in and out on your timeline, so you can see your clips better. We'll do that as we go.
And then over here, you've got this options wheel. And this is where you're going to add stuff like text music effects, transitions, you'll see that little Asset Store icon, you can access it there too. And then over here we have a play button. If I want to watch my footage, that's when I'm going to push posit, you can also watch your footage fast by just scrolling with your finger, back and forth as fast as you want. And again, you'll definitely use the pinching zooming in and out on your timeline a lot. So go ahead and get your media into your project, put it on your timeline and we'll go from there.
