Hello everybody, welcome to the second dashboard. In this video we will see how to use man if, in one of the previous videos, we did learn how to use offset for getting the number of employees for a particular reason that was a long formula. So what I've done is I've just edited the existing one that is country from the data and just updated the formula. So just let me show you before I start, so here it is. So the formula that was actually written down over here, I've just copy pasted and pasted it in here as we have done in the previous videos. Let's get started with a minute.
First thing is as it is logic, we do not have a formula called man hips we have to create our own. So the first we start with if we satisfy the condition, that is we are looking for this country where a is constant It should be equals to the country from the data selected by the user based on the selection in the given cell A one so, that is country from the data. So country from data will automatically select the parameters and the base and if that satisfies wish to have converted salary from the actual data which has been selected. Once done, I simply close the bracket. Now, if I press Enter I will not get an answer because it's just a comparison. Now, adding the min formula to it before if and adding the magic of Ctrl Shift Enter.
That is the add function. Min will start using if to retrieve a respective answer from a given array. And it will calculate the minimum from the given set. So, to put in the array function, use the shortcut Ctrl Shift Enter There it is. Now once I drag it down, I get the minimum salary. And the numbers are in multiple decimals.
So simply select the entire data and use the shortcut Ctrl Shift exclamation that will convert the data to the smallest parameter. Let's just cross verify the data. So to do so I wish to see India record for 2016. So according to this particular data for India, the lowest salary is 10,000. So let's check it out. So I'll just go to the data 2016.
And I'll just filter the records for India. So that should do it. I just sort the records. Yeah, we can see the records directly. We don't even have to filter and sort it so as but still for the sake of doing it all just sorted. Now just sorted in ascending order and there it is smallest or the lowest salary paid out 10,000 so that's how we can do our use minute.
In the next video, we will see how to use max if the concepts are similar so it will be faster. Till then keep practicing, keep learning take care
