Hello everybody welcome back to the second dashboard. In this video we will see how to remove these errors we got in our calculations. It's a simple formula we just have to put in an IF error before the existing formula. If error now the first parameter that you see is value value means if this particular calculation happens, that it will give an answer value indicates that if we get an answer apart from an error, then it should display the answer. The second parameter that we go with is value if I were to come to that option, you have to put in a comma. Once a comma has been inserted automatically the formula switches to another parameter.
And the question is what should happen if the answer rather when the average is giving me an error, what should be the substitution to that error? Now to substitute an error I will go with zero If it's an alphanumeric character do remember you have to put in double quotations and whatever the characters might be and then close the quotation. But as zero is a normal number, we can put that directly and just put that in one single zero, close the bracket, enter and there it is. Now if the average gives us a proper calculation that is average, if it gives us the correct calculation without an error, it will display the answer. But as we can see here, there is an error that is division by zero this error is an indicator that the number is trying to get divided by zero and which is not possible.
And in mathematics, we do know that any number divided by zero is not possible. So once I drag down automatically wherever there was an error message, we see a zero or the substitution for an error. Now in the next video, we will learn how to control these calculations using a small cell reference outside, say for example, currently, we are actually looking at the 2012 sheet now what if the user will wants to see 2013 or 14 or 2016. So based on the number entered in the cell automatically the answer should get updated. That's what we'll be learning in the next video. Until then, keep practicing.
See you in the next video. Thank you
