Self massage and this is actually one of my favorite exercises that I learned from Dr. Schneider. I like the massage rather than just stretching is that you can really start to affect tension in the tissue. This is too in depth, but you can start working with the more factual areas as well as the factual elements of the neck and tissue. We're saying that for for another training course. But it allows you to get a tactile response on what's going on with your own neck. A little bit of a warning here where we're working with a lot of very important tissue here in and around the neck.
So you're not holding on any one point for any too long. We've got the jugglers running up through underneath the sternocleidomastoid here So you don't want to be, if anything feels uncomfortable or too much, just dial it back a little bit, it might be that you have to go back to it another day. But essentially, we're looking at working some of this real big tissue that that's running up the neck. The sternocleidomastoid in particular, which is highlighted in the in the video is running this way, connecting up by the mastoid process. So I'm trying to get a good angle here. mastoid process through here, coming down into the clavicle, so sterno, sternum, claytor, clavicle, mastoid, mastoid sternocleidomastoid muscle.
So it's meant for turning their head for what we're doing is this. So this tissue has to pull and tight and it's like stints like they're trying to hold us up kind of like houses on big stents on the side of the hill. So all this tissue is being overloaded food, so for you to be able to get your hands on there and start to release that tension. feel fantastic and can be very valuable. I also towards the end of the exercise, you start to work towards the back of the neck and start to work with this tissue. Again be exploratory with that you're not trying to destroy attention or anything along those lines.
