Hi there. So we are studying how we can create a custom part in Eagle. So far we have created a footprint and we have created a symbol. And now it's time to create a device out of this tree. So let's begin. So while creating the device, what you need to do is simply open your library over here just like what we had been doing.
For now. You can see a footprint is there and the symbol is there. What do you need to do is create a device by clicking on this icon. Again, give a name to your device. I'll give it a name. So mo foldy module on just simmer for days also.
Okay. Create new device. Yes. Now this is the device window. The very first thing to do is we need to Add a symbol over here, then we need to add a package over here. And then we need to connect them using this, add a prefix.
And I will have a placeholder here and do some things. Let's just click on the Add button, or here we can also find the Add part. It's this is add. We can see all the symbols over here because you're looking in the same library. So just double click that and add it to the middle position. Now we have pick another symbol over here.
Here, just click on new add local package. Here we have the package that we had created. That comes over here. What we need to do is we need to connect these symbol names to those particular pins. So one connects here. To connect all those pins to the pin numbers, let's look here for reference and let's start from Lexus.
So USB pluses number one, so USB plus it's been number one, click on Connect USB minuses pin number two Connect. Let's just go on doing it. Next is pin number three vs pin number four. Next is the number three, reverses number four. Do it carefully. Add one add to five, six, ground it's seven it is this then We have number line Vcc and number 10, ground true.
Number 11 Rx, TX Rx, then TX. Number 13 is DSC R and then these are the DC L, and then speak a plus and a minus. So we have collected all the pills to the respective pins in the package. Apart from that, you can also change the prefix we have created a module so let's give a prefix mot or even a simple m would have done also click on the value tab over here so that the value editing can be done in the device. And let's add some description of the particular components over here. This is so more for B Audio module, which I created on for December.
Good. Okay. So, after we collect the symbols and pin packages, we add the prefix and we add the description. That's pretty much about it, save your device, just click on our key or close collaborate. Let's open our project one of our projects. We can see our project with you, or ships or supply.
So from this schematic file, let's see if we can add our module which is called FOMO. For D because it's added the libraries in us so slow mo for D So let's once more go into the libraries use Let's close the eagle completely. And let's restart the eagle. It shouldn't do. So once we have created a package, we have to follow all these steps, creating package creating symbol and then creating a device by creating device we need to connect all the pins to the respective pins from the datasheet datasheet is very important whenever you are creating any kind of custom symbol and you must not keep on looking at the dimensions over here. Similarly, you can also create SMD devices or ICS, or any kind of device.
Important thing is look into the datasheet over here and look for some standard packages. Let's open the schematic again. And let's try to see if we can find the scope or be what you as the device adds. So move forward is that along with this package, you can just place it and you can start using it normally. As you can see, the pin names numbers are all connected to each other, if it's mot one is also there that's pretty much about creating a device that's watching this video.
