If you are in a television network, a TV studio, local TV channel or a radio station, occasionally they will ask to do a mic check. In which case they'll say just count to 10. And people say one, two, they're getting the audio levels. There's nothing wrong with doing exactly what they asked for. But here's a trick I use. Instead of just boringly, saying, 123 I say, Hi, I'm TJ Walker when I'm in Kansas City, I always watched Wk abc channel for I do a promo for them.
This works well for radio, as well. Hi, this is TJ Walker. When I'm in Charlotte, North Carolina. I always listened to wb at 11:10am. It's a promo, nothing else. The producers, the host, the reporters are all kind of impressed.
You just sound so much more professional. And occasionally, they do might actually use it now. Maybe you're not famous. I'm not super famous or anything but it can't hurt. Sometimes radio stations, TV stations are looking for new promos. Maybe it just ends up on their website.
What do I have to lose? I remember back in my full time talk radio days back in the early to mid 90s talking to another host and he was telling me how smart and savvy the psychologist Dr. Joyce brothers was that she would always do that. And that way, instead of just getting one appearance on a talk radio show, in some small market, she would record that and then they because she was already famous with play that you know everyday for the next three years. So it built her fame it built her name ID not guaranteeing they're going to use it but it just can't hurt and it makes you look more professional and there's that slight chance you could get a lot more name A lot more branding from 110 second 22nd statement
