So how long should each lecture be? There's no magic length. I do think in an online environment, it's best to focus on one topic, if something of value really focus on one thing, go deep, but focus on one thing I find my videos are typically two to three minutes long. If it's something I feel really passionate about, I have a lot to say. And it's just one topic, I may go eight or 10 minutes. But in general, focus on one thing at a time, it's easier for your students to get in and out focus on that.
It's also a lot easier for you to talk just focusing on one thing without trying to remember what's the next part of my outline. So focus on one topic, you might make it as short as 30 seconds, it might be 10 minutes, but focus on one thing so that's what I'd like you to do. Now pick some part of your curriculum, something you'd like to teach, and just speak captured on video.
