So those are the basics of how I think you can be most helpful in training, whether you want to call yourself a trainer, a coach, consultant, an analyst, public affairs extra, there's a lot of different words for it, it all boils down to the same thing. Have you helped someone, get prepared to do their best for a media interview? A lot of different labels doesn't matter. I do believe the process I laid out for you is the most effective way and the most efficient way. I want to leave you with a couple of thoughts. What used to happen to me in my career, and what I think does happen to a lot of media trainers is people walk out of the training.
And they used to say, Wow, that was great. TJ is the greatest I learned so much from him. He's a real pro. That's what they used to say. They don't say that anymore about me. And ideally, that's not what they're gonna say about you.
What people saying now after going through a training with me is There's like, Wow, look at the video there, I can be half as good as that guy, I can be half as good as she is. I'm gonna blow away everyone in my industry and blow away these reporters and host. And they're talking about a video of themselves. They're no longer talking about me or you. They're talking about themselves, they now have a role model for how they should behave, and immediately and it can't be me, and it can't be you. It has to be themselves.
The ultimate way of really helping people get ready for media interviews, is to show them an example of how it's done really well. And that example is them. When you do that, it will really help someone, you will have given them maximum preparation. And by the way, they're going to love you too. But that's not going to be the first thing they say they're now focused on the fact that they have the skills. You do that and I think you're going to be a huge, huge asset.
To anyone you work with, again, whether it's 10 minute preparation before an interview on the way there, or you have the luxury of for eight hours or even 16 hours, good luck.
