There's another huge, huge PR bonus to creating internet video and YouTube video on a regular basis. It's not exactly the same as the others, it doesn't have the immediate payoff of some of the others, but long term, it's huge. And the benefit is this. You simply get better at speaking to a video camera. The more you do it, if you're creating internet videos on a regular basis, you build a comfort level you get better at it. You get rid of the mistakes that amateurs make, because most amateurs, when they're interviewed for local TV, national TV, are doing their own internet videos tend to stiffen up and don't move.

They think it's professional to hold their hands. And they are just flat. They're monotone. They speak too softly or too quickly because they're nervous, or are the arms have all these verbal tics that creep in For you, if you're doing video on a regular basis, you're simply going to get better at it. It's like any other skill in life. The more you do it, the better you get.

If you write memos and emails every day at every week, you're probably better than if you never ever wrote and you had to just write all of a sudden. It's like any skill. The more you do it, the more comfortable you are, the better you get. This is going to give you more confidence when it counts. Because the first time you're in the middle of a newsroom, let's say it's CNN or ABC, and there's people walking all around, you have an earpiece in the cameras on, all of a sudden you're asked to question, you're going to be nervous. I know I was.

But if you've already done dozens or hundreds or even thousands of YouTube videos, it's going to seem a lot less threatening. You're not going to be as intimidated. You're going to know even if you have a few buttons flies in your sub in your stomach, that you know how to look your best sound your best you'll know, to still move your hands to sound conversational, to not sound like you're reading off of a cue card. Even if you are, you'll know how to come across your best. So that will give you confidence. So you'll actually be better, you'll feel more confident.

And every single time a reporter uses you for their TV broadcast, they'll get a much better sense of who you are. Because the best PR is really being great with every single interview you do, so that you go to the head of the list the top of the Rolodex for any time that reporter that producer needs someone on that subject. So that's one of the huge huge values of doing video on a regular basis. Now. I make videos every day of the week at least Monday through Friday. Sometimes if there's breaking news, how to it on the weekends to you You don't have to do it every single day.

But I would recommend that you do it regularly. It's often easier to do it once a day than it is to do it once a month. That's once a month. You're spending so much time thinking about it. And then you forgot how the camera works and the lights go on. It's just easier to do it on a regular basis.

Maybe you decide to do it once a week. But stick with something that makes it a regular habit. Any blogger will tell you it doesn't matter how great your blog post is. If you write three great blog post one a day for three days and you don't do anything for two months. And then you write another blog post and you wait a week. your blog will never grow.

You'll never have an audience. It'll never mean anything. bloggers who are successful blog on a very regular basis. So it's every single Thursday some it's every day, some it's a 10 times a day as news generates. I'm not going to tell you what your editorial schedule will be. But what I will tell you is do something in the format of video regularly posted on YouTube.

And there will be all sorts of other side benefits. You will be perceived as a real pro. Every time you're interviewed by the so called mainstream media every time you're interviewed on TV, so the more you do it, the better you'll get.
