Word about ratings and reviews Udemy is aggressive, some what's a too aggressive about asking you, right? This course rate this course, sometimes it seems like you've only been in the course for two minutes and all of a sudden they're asking you to rate the quality of the course. Well, in a case like this, this course is 550 videos, how can you possibly rate the course after a couple of minutes or even 10 minutes? So I am sympathetic to it. There's pluses and minuses to everything. The beauty of the Udemy system is it does give you a sense of the marketplace.
And if you don't know who you want a training from, and you don't know anything about the other trainers and you just type in a particular word like media training or public speaking. You'll get hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of courses. How do you rationally make a decision? Well, one of those is by looking at the ratings. And if someone has four ratings, well, they could have gained that They could have asked three friends or paid three friends to do it. But when you see a course, with hundreds, sometimes thousands of ratings, you can't really gain that.
So if it's a very high rating, that means generally it's a good course you can't go wrong if it's a bad rating. If it's a low rating, there's a lot of ratings, you know that chances are, you might be frustrated with it. So if you've already rated this course, first of all, thanks for taking the course and reading it. If there's something that you think is really lacking, what I would appreciate the most is send me a message and ask me what you want to see changed to make this a five star course for you. I'm not asking you to just give me five star ratings because I want you to be my friend or I like you are expected to like me, you don't know me anything. At this point.
What I owe you is the best possible course. I can't I can't make it better without feedback from you. Now, if you just leave a low star rating, I don't know what to fix. If you leave a low star rating, and a couple of suggestions, well, that's somewhat helpful. But you've now reduced the overall rating of the course, and perhaps steering people away, and keeping them from ever coming in. So frankly, it would be helpful to the rest of the public, the rest of the students and me if you could send me the specific suggestions you have, in order for me to make the course better.
And then if you see that I do it because I do make changes quickly. Ideally, you can then either rate the course for the first time, presumably it would be a good rating, and or you can change your rating to make it better. I hope what you're seeing in this course is not that it's perfect, no courses perfect. I'm not perfect, but what I've tried to do is share With you, everything I've held nothing back. I'm sharing with you everything I've learned in this whole process of media training that I've been doing since 1984. I'm not simply someone who was a successful Udemy instructor on other subjects and said, Hey, you know what?
I'm comfortable talking on video, I see this as a market niche. Let me toss out a handful of videos and I'll make money off of that. I'm here because I'm here for the long haul, because I've trained thousands and thousands and thousands of people in the real world before I ever stepped foot in front of you here and you to me, and I'm giving you unique insights that you cannot find in a book you cannot find just by looking at a few other YouTube videos. And I'm giving you width and breadth depth. This course has more lectures than anyone else in the world Udemy or anyplace else. When it comes to media training, it's a longer course than any other course.
And I'm hoping you getting some real value out of that and you will let that be reflected in the rating you give. Thanks
