What's the most important thing to know about lighting yourself when you're creating your own videos or you're doing a Skype video interview or a webinar? There are a lot of things you could get into hiring all sorts of lighting experts, but the most important thing is you need more light on your face. Not behind you. The big blunder most people make is they have a webcam pointing right at them. And there's a window behind it. So there's all the light behind them.
It darkens their face, horrible, horrible, horrible. Now in this particular study, I have about six slides. This TV screen has a white PowerPoint on that's emanating light. I have a big light up here in a ceiling, another light, a side light to on the floor. It's not the traditional three part lighting where you have one on one side, one another and one behind you. But it gets the job done.
For me. It provides a little depth and keeps focused on the face. The main thing You want is more light on your face, not behind you not on other things. You don't want all the light way above you to create shadows of your eyes. You don't want light below you looking up you'll look like you're in a horror movie. You want light that makes you look your best and isn't too high isn't too low and isn't overly bright.
That also isn't too dark. long as someone can see your face see your face clearly and you don't look too dark or too washed out. You'll be okay
