Who's my favorite speaker of all time? Who really demonstrates great speaking skills? This is a question I get a lot. It is a tough one. Because there are so many great people when it comes to how they communicate in the media, giving speeches talking through the media. And it's also a tough one because someone you mentioned his favorite could be hated by someone else for completely different reasons, political reasons, ideological reasons.
But I don't want to hedge with you. Many of you have asked me this. I'll share with you if you're talking about and forgive my bias I am based in the United States. I only speak English I do work with now students from 190 plus countries, and I've trained at this time in more than 30 countries around the world. But my bias is still American and English speaking so I had to pick my favorite speakers on the world stage over the last 30 years in terms of their sheer ability to communicate in a compelling way, I would pick Bill Clinton, former US President Ronald Reagan, former US president, Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of Great Britain, not all of them have certain people who hate them because of their politics and views and policies. I'm not here to discuss their policies.
I'm talking about sheer ability to speak in a compelling way in the media, but also in front of live audiences. Those are my favorites. Certainly, we could talk about favorite talk show hosts who's the best? Well, it's kind of hard to say Oprah isn't the best talk show host because of her dominance there. There's top political leaders we've mentioned business leaders, chefs, TV evangelists, there's so many great people in each niche and genre. I would toss this out to you They'll think about who you like the most.
And think about what do they do that really you couldn't do? Probably not much when it comes to how they speak to the media.
