Should you wear glasses during a TV interview? Here's the rule of thumb. If you always always wear glasses, I would continue to wear glasses. If you're like me and you only sometimes wear glasses or you really only need them to read, then I opt for taking them off. The reason for that is glasses can cause glare. And the more glare there is the more distractions for the person watching it.
Now, these glasses have been glare proofed. They also don't have much of a frame so they don't cast shadows. If you're going to wear glasses for speeches, media interviews, and you don't have a strong preference, strong style preference, then I would recommend that you get glasses. They don't have to look like mine. But the beauty of these is they just don't create shadows. They don't call attention to themselves.
So that's why I have these it's just a frame and then the glass and there's nothing fancy there. If a part of your image is big, colorful glasses, well then use them. There are plenty of Famous talk show hosts who have big, strong, prominent red glasses or black glasses as a part of their image. So you don't have to feel insecure about wearing glasses. But if you're not 100% certain you need them. You don't always wear them.
Don't take them off. But if you always wear glasses and you need them, don't take them off and all of a sudden you're looking like you're blind. That doesn't help at all. Those are the rules of thumb for glasses for media interviews.
