What is media training? Now this may seem like an odd question. Here we are deep, and I mean deep in the middle of a media training course. But sometimes it still mystifies people a little bit I define media training is defining you how to speak to the news media, specifically, how to look your best come across comfortable, confident, relaxed, how to shape a message, answer questions and get the exact soundbite you want. That's what media training is. It's not public speaking training.

It's not presentation skills, training, like how to give a PowerPoint. it's specific to talking to the media, especially when there's a TV camera around now, these days with social media and the ability for all of us to essentially be our own TV networks and our own TV shows. We don't necessarily have that reporter there so media training also includes The ability to just speak to your own video camera and make your own media. That's what media training is.
