I want to give you even more performance tips of how to give the keynote speech. When you're doing it virtually. The big problem for many people, even if they're great speakers in person, normally, if you take away the crowd and you just have a camera, people freeze themselves. If they're doing the video at their desk, they're kind of slumping over and leaning down so nothing's moving much. You see a bunch of hunched over stuff. No animation.

Here's the thing you need to keep in mind. You need to continue moving your head moving your face, moving your body some and moving your hands because that's what people do when they speak and they're comfortable and relaxed. Nervous people stand frozen or hold their hands or grab a lectern and don't move or they hold a pan to calm their nerves like they're going to jab somebody. You want your hands free. You want to smile a little and you want to move your head and move your body and move your hands now not moving. So I'm not going to move out of a sprain, that's too much.

I do recommend some movement. Don't lean in occasionally, just like you would in a keynote now, so I mentioned in a previous lecture, I like to stand for my videos because it does simulate the experience a little more of an actual keynote speech because most keynote speakers stand so I can step over here a little I can, I can lean back. And there are times you'll see it in the speech I'm going to show you in a moment where I will kind of simulate like I'm in the room and I'll say, you know, I can see you in the back row on your cell phone because you're used to speakers being boring. You can reference different places in there. Even though you can't see it. It just makes people feel a little more connected.

So keep in mind, you've got to move your face. You got to smile little got to move your body. You got to move your hands because If it's just like this forget talking for an hour, people are going to fall asleep after 30 seconds. Now the other thing that's a little bit difficult because it's unnatural is the camera, you should look at the camera like it's a person. And you don't want to do something like this. Well on the next point of my speech that I want to talk about that's really important is and let me try to trick people by putting my notes on the wall and going back and forth in my outline.

When your eyes are darting, it becomes extremely noticeable on camera, especially if your image is being blown up perhaps on a 40 5060 foot screen at a convention hall. So you don't want your eyes darting now, do you want to look down for a minute that's fine. It'll look thoughtful, reflective. But if you look up, it's very noticeable and it can distract. So try to look at the camera but Not like this. This is the problem a lot of people have and they're staring at a camera, their eyes locked and their head freezes.

That looks like you're a zombie. You have to keep moving your head. And if you want to move your eyes back and forth across the camera or within a range about the size of a head, six feet, or excuse me, not a six foot hit a six inch head back and forth. A little bit of movement of your eyes is fine, and it's more comfortable for you. But you shouldn't be staring off here and let's just to make a point of you're talking to someone else. For the most part, look at the camera, and you'll be in good shape.

Those are basic performance tips.
