Now it's time to do it again. I want you to do the same practice on video if you want. Have someone asked you questions the way someone would for the actual TV interview or newspaper or online publication interview you're about to do. Have someone ask your questions or interview yourself. Practice again. But here's the tricky part.
And this gets dramatic results when I do it. And people just end up getting confused, frustrated if they don't do it this way. What I want you to do is to focus on improving just one thing you didn't like about your previous performance. If you felt your hands didn't move enough and you look stiff, your eyes were floating around, or you licked your lips. Don't try to change all three things at once. Just focus on improving one thing that's the best way to rehearse Now you don't have to do a two hour interview, and then focus on one thing and another two hour interview and review it because before you know it, it's eight hours.
You might only practice for 60 seconds, maybe 90 seconds, maybe two minutes. So it doesn't have to be long. But I want you to focus on doing just one thing better. Then watch the video and determine Did you In fact, do that one thing better. That's the way to practice.
