How do you plan an ad lib? You can just do it like that, stop, pause, look up for a minute. You know where you want to go. But you're just pausing a little, and it will make what you say sound spontaneous. The big problem so many speakers have is they're just going through facts going through data. Maybe they're reading right off of a PowerPoint deck, but maybe they are just speaking looking at people.
But it's all rushed. It all sounds like I'm now I'm going to tell you what I thought about saying five seconds ago and I'm going through this teleprompter in my brain. And it just doesn't sound conversational. In real life, you're having a conversation with a friend, colleague family member, they'll start saying something and then it was the two nights ago. We so they're spontaneous. They're Little bit of a pause it comes to them, and it makes it real.
You can actually plan that in your speech. You don't want to do it in a way that seems contrived because you're doing it every two minutes. Well, and that reminds me now, but occasionally, it will work really well and make you seem fresh and genuine
