Thanks for being a part of this course on media training for doctors and healthcare professionals. I hope the biggest takeaway for you is really this, come up with your message, really make sure you're comfortable with it. It's something you can say in 30 seconds on a top medical issue of the day. And then practice saying it on video and actually practice someone interviewing you or interview yourself. And you can just hold up a cell phone and interview yourself. But make sure that you're comfortable with a message that you've got sound bites, and that you're comfortable with how you come across.
Do that and you will be in great shape for all your mediators. It doesn't matter if it is just basic consumer health news, talking about how to not gain 10 pounds over the holidays, or if it's because of a crisis because of something that's happened in your hospital and there was an injury or an accidental death and now there are people swarming around angry at your organization, the principles are exactly the same whether it's a medical crisis, or basic consumer health news. Focus on a message. Have your soundbites answer questions in a focused way, and move with comfortable, confident, relaxed. And the best way to be confident is to practice on video before the actual interview, do that, and you'll be in great shape and you'll help educate the world, the citizens in your own community and elsewhere on how to be healthier. Good luck with all your future interviews.
