Well welcome to ultimate drumming calm. I'm Jim McComb. I'm going to show you another really great eighth note rock and roll beat. First I'm going to play it for you. Then I'm going to break it down note by note and show you how it works. In order to play this great sounding but a little bit odd sounding beat, you need to be thinking eighth notes, one and two and three and four and I'm going to be playing eighth notes with the right hand The symbol or the closed hi hat, one and two and three, and four and one and three and four.
Left hand is going to be on beats two and four. I got a coordinate the two together. The bass drum is played on all the ads. Every time I say an ad, I'm playing the bass drum, one and two and three and four and one and two, and three and four and I'm going to coordinate everything together. No one and two, three and four. Now once you get comfortable with this pattern, it's smart to try combining it with other eighth note rock and roll beats.
So what I'm going to do is play two measures of a straight ahead rock and roll beat. And then I'm going to try this new one for a couple measures. Back to the straight ahead, rock and roll beat and then try the new one. See what happens. One and two, and three. Now let's try it a little bit faster.
One and To me. So there you have it, another great sound and eighth note rock beat that you can add to your repertoire. Thanks for watching. I'll see you soon at ultimate drumming.com
