There are many different email programs. I'm not here to advocate one over the other. I do use Gmail, the Google product. It does allow you to have things in categories promotional, primary, social. It also allows you to categorize things. So if you know you have a newsletter on woodworking, but it's not that important, you can have it go automatically into a folder on woodworking and then one Saturday morning a month if that's what you're into, you can just go right to that folder.
All the emails are right there. I do think you need a system for putting your emails in priority, the more you could segment it so that it goes into different files and everything isn't going just into one big inbox, the better off you are. You need to figure out what works best for you. Speaking of Gmail, again, whether I'm not here to advocate Google, they hardly need my endorsements as they control most of the world. But whether you use Google or something else, you need something that's going to eliminate most of the spam. And that is one reason why I use Google and many people do use Gmail is that they do a pretty good job of eliminating lots of spam.
So whatever system you use, you need to have something that does that for you.
