If you want to appear as professional to your clients and prospects, you need a consistent workflow so that every single contact you have with them from initial consultation phone call email about them just inquiring to finishing the work is done in a consistent way. That appears to be well thought out. Not every business is different, as you heard me say before, but every business has a specific workflow. So with mine, for example, someone hires me for a day of training. I send out a proposal, I get it back. I send out a letter of agreement.

I get it back. I send out an inquiry for a pre training call to schedule. I confirm that I send out pre training information. I send out a checklist a week in advance of the specific things I need in the room. As far as the television, I have handouts. Already for the clients as we go through the whole day of training, after the day of training, I have an email that goes out, typically within a couple of days, reminding them of all the other things they get.

They if with their permission, get on the newsletter list, so they hear from me once a week, everything is thought out. None of this is particularly difficult. None of it requires education or some sort of sophisticated software program. Typically, it's just a bought it out. Nothing appears to be random. So the client experiences Wow, TJ knows his stuff.

He's thought this through. He's thought of everything. Maybe we don't need as much done on this particular area, but it's nice to know that in case we do he's thought of it. You don't want to be this Freelancer sort of shows that Oh, I forgot this thing or you know, I've got this handout, but I didn't bring it today. Oh yeah, I'll send you something in a few weeks. You don't want to seem like you're doing this for the first time with your client.

You don't want to seem like you're learning on their dime. The clients hate that. They want to know that you've done all your learning in advance, even if you're 19 years old, and you're now giving them highly valuable service, something that's going to help their life help reduce pain, help them save, do something that benefits them, it can't seem like they're there to benefit you. So please, please be professional in every single aspect of your workflow. And if you're going to follow up with them in six months do so. If a prospect this happens to me all the time a prospect calls up.

We have a great talk. Everything sounds fine. They love me. They're ready to go ready to sign the contract. Oops. TJ Everything's been put on hold for six months, call me in six months.

Guess when I call them? I don't call them up in a week and say, Are you ready to do it now? I don't call them in two years and say, Hey, remember me, I call them in six months. I simply put it on my calendar in my Salesforce database and I'm not plugging Salesforce. You can use any database that will remind you to make a call when a client asks to be called. So in every dealing with the client, the customer, make it professional, make it a system, make sure your workflow is going exactly according to plan so that nothing seems ill thought out or random.
