You've heard the old axiom measure twice cut once is talking about in carpentry if you measure everything twice, then when you're cutting it, you know, it's just right. Because once you cut wood, it's hard to put it back together again, I take it one step further, measured three times before cutting, make sure what you're doing is the right way. That's just a fancy way of saying plan. highly productive people do this, they don't mind a little more due diligence up front, because they know it's gonna save them so much time in the back end. I don't always do this, I try to do it. No one's perfect but productive.
People try to make this their standard operating procedure. For example, when I first started doing courses on this platform, I just got excited. I started making all kinds of courses, all kinds of topics related to my expertise before you knew it. I had 100 courses. But I didn't stop and really study and measure what the most successful instructors were doing. I just did my own stuff.
The result most of the courses didn't sell much at all that I have one that four and a half years later is only it $17. So, it wasn't particularly successful. It just kicked off a couple thousand dollars a month, but not much. Then I did it the right way. I measured what works on this platform. How did I do that?
I studied all the other successful instructors. I took their courses, I did my due diligence. I studied their courses, what they did their recommendations, what worked. I also looked at other courses that didn't work. Then I made a whole new batch of courses. Those were 10 times more successful.
That's what you need to do on a regular basis before you just get all excited and run off and start doing stuff. Measure. measure what works for other people measure what's going to work for yourself. This applies whether you're building a treehouse or an online course.
