What do you do if you're in the middle of a presentation and you just mess up you screw up royally? My advice is before you do anything, really ask yourself, How important was this mistake in so many cases your audience doesn't know, doesn't really care. So it gets people into trouble is when they say, oops or love, sorry, or they look embarrassed. The problem with this is not that you can't be a human being and show emotion. The problem is, that might be the most interesting, emotional, memorable moment of your whole presentation. That's not where you want to put the spotlight.
You want to put the spotlight on the great ideas you have for your audience or the people you're speaking to. So my advice, if you make a mistake, don't tell anyone. If it is a very specific factual error, stop, pause, don't look embarrassed, and then say Actually the correct number of that is and stated, people won't remember your mistakes. They remember your reaction to your mistake. So as long as you react in a calm way, there aren't any problems and people will remember what's really important, your main messages and your stories.
