Productive people have a lot of stuff. Sometimes they have a lot of nice stuff. Multiple mansions, houses, planes, if that's your sort of thing, other times they don't have that much stuff. But here's the real signifier I see that is different between highly productive people and a lot of other people. The highly productive people are in control of their stuff. The stuff doesn't control their happiness, unproductive people, semi productive people, the stuff controls them.
They're like, Oh, I got to work harder to pay off for this boat or I got to work harder to meet the mortgage for this house I can't really afford productive people are not necessarily any less materialistic than anyone else. I've got a lot of nice things that I enjoy. But if you took it all away tomorrow, for productive people, it wouldn't matter as much because they can continue creating, they can continue adding value and with those things, comes more money, you can just buy this stuff again. Keep that attitude. As your career grows as you perhaps have the means to get more stuff. Don't let the stuff control you.
You have to control the stuff once your happiness is dependent on stuff. You're no longer going to be a productive person. Once your happiness is destroyed because somebody scratched your stuff or got it dirty, you're no longer in charge. The stuff is in charge.
