What is it you want to produce? If I get up early on a Saturday morning and I wash the car, and I rake the leaves, and I mow the lawn, and I paint the side of the house, and I do all of that by lunchtime, was that a productive morning? Maybe, maybe not. If I hate doing those things, and I can make a lot more money in an hour than it would take to hire someone to do those things. I would say that's not a productive morning. That's wasting time.
Now, if I love doing those things, they are my hobby. I enjoy them. It's a passion and that's a highly productive use of my time. It all depends on you and what it is you actually value. Many people spend all their time on home repairs and it turns out they don't really like living in a home they'd much rather live in a rented apartment. Well all That time doing home repair is essentially as wasteful as watching TV if you don't want to live in a home.
So productive people are great at stepping back from it and asking themselves, what is it they want to produce? Just being busy. Just doing activity that other people say is productive is not enough. So ask yourself now what is it that you're trying to produce? In terms of more sales, more business, more happiness? More or less?
What is it you're trying to create in your life?
