Highly productive people often connect what it is they're doing to a higher purpose. At some point, just being more productive to make more money to buy another boat or yacht doesn't really satisfy people. The famous psychologist, Abraham Maslow had this theory, the hierarchy of needs, and you've got basic food and shelter. But as you work your way up, and you want to be self actualized, you have to do something that really shows your full potential to the world. So it's really important to see what you're doing and how what you're doing affects the world in a positive way. Now, when I say a higher purpose, I don't necessarily mean something supernatural or involved with religions or gods that sort of thing.
So in the most productive people in the world, do not believe in any of that stuff. But it's about helping something creating something that go beyond yourself and your immediate Get family or perhaps even your immediate tribe of people within your city, state, country, or region of the world. It's about doing something that helps humanity. That is a great motivator to make people more productive. So I want you to think about that. What is your higher purpose?
I know for me, I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction, knowing I'm helping people in 190 plus countries around the world, lead more productive lives, speaking more effectively communicating more effectively whether they are creating businesses, growing organizations, that gives me a lot of satisfaction, especially when I get emails and reviews on a daily basis, from faraway countries from people who tell me how I've specifically helped them. And I'm not getting much money at all from any one of those students. It's not about the money. individually, but it is collectively about doing something that is helping the world in fundamental ways. So what is your higher purpose and right now you just want to get out of student debt and feed your self and your family. There's nothing wrong with that.
You can try to just be more productive for that but long term, what is your higher purpose, I want you to reflect on that. And then write it down in the q&a section right here.
