Highly productive people have learned the art of self regulation doesn't mean they don't occasionally overeat or over drink or over indulge in some form of access. But by and large, they are not too drunk or too stoned or too whacked out or too hungover to do productive work on a daily basis. The problem with not really having strong self regulation is it just takes over your life. If you can't figure out how to stop eating, chocolate cake or Doritos, you're going to be on the couch just eating all day long. You'll be 350 450 pounds and then you're going to spend all your time either buying more Doritos and cake or going to doctors. highly productive people just don't have the time for that.
If you have a problem in any of these areas, ate too much, sometimes you can see some fat right here. If you have problems in any of these areas. It's It's crucial that you actively try to solve them. I'm not saying chase every diet around forever. But if you want to follow other gurus, other exercise programs, other things to help you be healthy, then you need to do that. Because this ability to self regulate is crucial.
You might not have a problem with eating too much or drinking too much or doing drugs too much. But if you check your email every five seconds, that's another self regulation problem. You need to learn how to regulate yourself. Preferably not to check email more than once or twice a day, but certainly not in a way that's disrupted from other important work you must do. This course can't go into every aspect of self regulation and how to keep you out of trouble. But if you've got a problem, you've got to deal with it.
It's okay to have problems in these areas as long as you actively Try to find solutions you'll be okay.
