Creative, productive people do not wait to be hit by bolts of lightning for some brilliant creative idea to pop in their head. No productive people schedule time on their calendar to be creative. That's right, they actually schedule it. I mentioned you before the most successful writers in the world, they show up at 9am, sometimes 8am case of Isaac Asimov more like 5am and they just start writing. They don't wait for perfect ideas to float in their head. They start creating, maybe it's not all good.

Maybe they have to throw away nine tenths of it. But they focus on creating and they schedule it. They schedule it not everything scheduled is going to be great, but if you consistently schedule time for creative output over time, you will come up with good stuff. My recommendation whether you're a student, whether you're stuck in a dead end job, whether you're stuck in a job, that's purely manual labor and you're trying to do something that is more creative and intellectual schedule at least 30 minutes a day where you're going to do nothing, but create, come up with ideas, it could be writing, it could be painting, it could be finger painting, whatever it is that you value that you think is producing something that the world needs, the world wants or values or that you value. schedule that and tell yourself you're going to do nothing during that time.

Other than create, you're not going to watch TV, you're not going to start chatting with friends on Facebook. You're just going to create only has to be a half an hour, a day. But if you do that every single day, that is Gonna be close to 200 hours a year of creative output. That's a lot of creativity. Some of that is going to be valuable. Some of that's going to be productive.

Some of it is going to be something he'll be proud of. But it doesn't happen just waiting for that lightning bolt. It happens with a mundane task of sitting down and scheduling it.
