Welcome to the class of decluttering using Facebook marketplace, make some money while helping the planet part three. Are you selling your items on Facebook marketplace weekly? Well done. You may start to notice the selling pattern. Are you enjoy decluttering by now? I'm so glad to hear that.

I am going to show you how I listed and sold items weekly. I found a weekly pattern works the best. I went to Christie's house every Tuesdays and worked from 10am to 6pm. I organize the stuff in the morning from 10am to noon, and move it to pick up items by the front entrance. was making sure my phone is fully charged to receive a message phone call from the buyers. At the one hour lunch break, I ate lunch with Christie and explaining how the sales when who pick up and so on.

In the afternoon between one to 5pm I moved to 10 to 17 items for photo shooting in the attic. Where has a skylight window that has a nice natural light until don't I was taking a variety of angled photos of each item, as I showed you in part one class. While I was taking photos of the items, I needed to come down for a pickup appointment when the buyer showed up. I carried my fully charged phone with me during the time. If the buyer cancels, I wanted to contact the second seller who is And on the waitlist. End of the day we were so tired.

We were usually ordered for you to take home for dinner near the train station when Christie dropped me off some basis we can be ordered a big lunch, we ate half of for lunch and saved another half for dinner. Thursday for my listing day, I listed 10 to 17 items that it took pictures on Tuesday afternoon. When I listed item for the first time, I spent about 30 minutes per item by researching and writing a detailed description. 30 minutes by 10 items is five hours. The more you list, the more I know which items sell well and save time researching. Now I spent 10 minutes per piece minutes times 10 items is one hour and 40 minutes that is saved.

Three hours and 20 minutes is almost one third of the time I used to spend. I tend to receive many inquiries a few minutes after pasted in the morning, and at night. I made sure my phone is unmuted to hear I messenger notification sound. As soon as I listen to the ringing tone, I answered Yes. Then started the chat conversation with the potential buyers. When the buyer shows interested in a pickup exchange the necessary information to set a pickup appointment.

After that, I set my calendar for pickup appointment along with the link of the item and a wait list of the buyers information in case first buyer cancels. Here what I did I set two timeframes Each week, I can schedule pick up appointments on Tuesday from one to 6pm and the weekends from noon to 4pm. If a potential buyer asked for a different time or date, I take a step to Christie to ask if she's available. Then I schedule an appointment for the buyer and added the appointment in my Google Calendar. Although Google calendar is very useful that you can share with others, Christy had a lot of things to do. She fully trusted me and prefer not to share the colander this time.

Here are two tips for you. The first set a timeframe for pick up appointment to consolidate when I pick up appointments for the first time. I scheduled many appointments on the different days and times. There were spread appointments during the week. One is on Monday afternoon and one is on Wednesday morning. There were so many interruptions during the week, especially evening appointments, often canceled last minute due to traffic.

Second, the weekend is the best for pickup. Because there are no heavy traffic jams. People are more relaxed and come on time. In the morning of the pickup date, I send a reminder the reminder contains appointment time, the item with price and the pickup location address. Also, I reminded them to bring exact change. Although we exchanged phone numbers, I added my phone number again.

Lastly, I asked them to confirm the appointment by a specified date. I am confirming your pickup appointment Today at 1pm for stained glass blue lamps stand for $60 here is the address 123 Ocean Avenue New York New York 11101. Please bring, please bring exact change. If you lay or cancel please let us know by reply to this message or text or call 9141234567. If I don't hear from you by 11am I may sell it to the other buyers because we need to sell it by November 22nd. That way, if the first buyer didn't confirm, I can look to the second buyer.

That was a great tip that I learned from this project to have a waitlist and I can sell items quickly. As I mentioned, the weekend is the best for pickup. If missed opportunity to sell on the weekend. I may have to wait until next weekend. Another great tip that I learned was asking the second and third witness buyers if they can come if the first buyer cancels last minute. What I did to avoid conflict, I sent a reminder to first buyer to confirm with a specified time this case would be by 11am.

If the first buyer confirm after 11am and you have a second buyer confirmed already, you can send a message to the first buyer say by saying sorry the buyer who are on the waitlist just booked for 3pm pickup today. If he cancels, I will let you know. In that way, the first buyer would understand how first I need to sell the items. And also they may act more quickly to get a great deal on the Facebook marketplace next time. Another technique is asking the first spire for deposit to hold on item. Facebook payment can be linked either PayPal or debit card to send receive money for free.

Here is the patio furniture story. As soon as I listed this beautiful outdoor patio furniture set, I received inquiry every 10 minutes. I was so thrilled even though I scheduled the first buyer for pickup. There were more and more inquiries at the night. And in the morning. By the time I listed there were no pending pickup on on Facebook marketplace.

I spent most of my time answering your inquiries and asked them for on a waitlist. Some buyer convinced me to sell them because they can come now instead of the weekend. Some buyer was offering more money. Some buyer put their anger on me not able to buy and left a negative rate even if they were not my buyer. I reported this issue to Facebook marketplace but they didn't take the negative rate from my seller profile. Please be careful.

I wanted to stop this craziness and want to be sure that a patio furniture will sell on a weekend for sure. I told those buyers that I already have an appointment with the first buyer. I respected the first buyer appointment. I messaged the first buyer for deposit because there are over 90 inquiries and some buyer was asking for more money by the first buyer didn't have a PayPal. not familiar with Facebook payment either. She explained it to me how badly she needs the patio furniture said has a fire pay to do rose to match tomorrow's for her son's birthday party.

She promised me to pick up. I believed in my gut feeling and trusted her better than over 90 inquiries. Luckily, she showed up on time to pick up the set and left more money than our asking price. That is shows her appreciation that we trusted. That proved my gut feeling was correct. This story made me happy.

Here is the easy sale transaction example. I listed item on Tuesday around lunchtime. I guess. I received an inquiry within 30 minutes and scheduled an appointment after work time is like a Around 5:30pm I met the buyer and the transacted in cash. The item was dried we all butter fried in the frame. There were no reminder calendar input and text message to Christie.

That was a super easy easy transaction case. It would be so easy if I all the items sell like this. Here is this low sales transaction example. As you may already know that a bed or couch or the slow sales if you want to sell big furniture quickly, do you know what to do? Yeah, right. Set a great deal place.

Can you guess how much did Christie set the price for this furniture 1200 dollars for this dining table. Guess how much did we sell it for? Christie's say that this dining table set original price was over $4,000 because this dining tables as needed to stage for open house, there were only a few weeks to sell. I listed this set to take a reservation for pick up after the open house However, no one reserved this set. After the house sold, we needed to sell everything quickly. Christy's asking price $1,200 was too pricey.

I thought $700 or less would be the great to start because of only four weeks before home visits People have less budget than usual. And the cold and snowy season is coming to. But Christie has not agree with my starting price suggestion because they are no inquiry for seven days. The price got over $2,000 still no inquiries. The next week the price got low, lower to 800 we finally received five inquiries, but no one interested in scheduling for pickup yet. When I researched for a dining table set within five miles, I people five people were listing a similar set for 150 to $300.

I noticed the buyers contacted us must be shopping around So we dropped the price too dramatically from 800 to 502 weeks before Thanksgiving weekends. Now we got more inquiries. When the buyer came for pick up. Ford, Jr. said she saw the dining table set and asked the Christy for 250. The buyer can take them right away since they came with a truck. If I were her, I would sell the set and focus on other selling.

What if the set remaining unsold we had only two weeks remaining. After Christie declined the returning buyers offer. We had to lower the price to 484 5400 350 although I managed to response over 20 enquiries, not so many turned into an appointment. The buyer scheduled for pickup cancelled last minute. Another buyer supposed to come stuck in traffic and other buyer cancelled due to bad weather. On the seven days before the closing date.

We finally sold the set for 360. The buyer almost cancels the last minute because of the truck driver may not be available on that day. That was so close. Christy told me that she was right to decline for 250 offer two weeks ago. Do you agree with her
