Do you And should you eat at your desk your work like you're in your work area. Most people, most people, for professionals who work with computers, they tend to be busy enough and they tend to maximize try in an attempt to maximize their amount of work that they do. They eat at their desk, I am no exception. I also eat at my desk. Studies show it's a bad idea. So I guess I'm going to be a hypocrite and I'm going to tell you not to, but I am myself always thinking about ways also not to eat at my desk.

It is hard I really admitted because I am myself like a victim of this problem. So studies show that your desk has a tremendous amount of bacteria. And not to mention, when you eat at your desk, you you're going to have crumbs inside your keyboard you're going to have crumbs inside like in all kinds of like on the floor next to your desk, you know, the the place where the desk meets the floor, that it's hard to believe And it's just gonna be over time, let's say you like, if it's your home, or if it's your, you know, in an office, I mean, over time, you're going to be there for years and all that disgusting food is gonna pile up, the cleaning that you do doesn't get up there, get all of it out. And so it's gonna be you're gonna be in kind of a filthy place, right?

Which is not, which is not great. So here are some tips for how to manage your time and maybe figure out other things to do in order that you don't have to reach your desk, for example, why not? And by the way, before I go on, there's another thing that points out it's a health problem for you in terms of your digestion, right? So when you in weight gain, so for example, when you eat at your desk, you have all this stress, you have all these alerts from your computer. And what happens is, you start to not pay attention to what you're eating, you're doing something and you're eating and remember how you can't multitask right? You really only focus on one thing.

So you have a sandwich. Oh, I only have half sandwich. Now, this literally happened to me like earlier today. So I know this. And you're just doing this mindless eating. And what happens during the mindless eating is you eat more than you should eat more than you need.

Right. And then there's the snacking. And then before you know what you ate the whole, whatever you were eating, like a whole box or bag of it, right? So if you it's a, it's a weight loss, it's a weight gain problem, right, you're eating more than you need. Because your body really takes about 15 minutes to realize its full and you're eating fast. So you're eating too much before you're realizing that you're full, all that kind of stuff.

So that's another problem. But um, so here's, here's some tips for how to like figure out sometimes in your day, how to combine activities so that you can do either eating during them. So for example, let's say that you have more meetings, why not schedule a meeting? and do some time do sometimes during lunch and just make sure you tell people, Hey, get your food before the meeting so that you're not starving so we can have our food during the meeting. And also not eat at our desks, right? That's one thing to do.

Another thing that you might Some people like to do, I don't love this, but some people recommended happy love, you also need to move around. Either. You need to either you need to, you know, deliberately, hey, I'm going to take a 15 minute break. I'm going to go for a walk which you can can really re energize you. The thing that I said that I that I'm not a fan of is having walking meetings. So let's say hey, let's go for a walk and meet because sometimes if you're talking about something important, you really need to look at the person face to face you need to brainstorm you need to have something to write on to brainstorm.

So. For that reason, I don't love the walking meetings, but I like the idea of taking away Or maybe combining activities that aren't, too that don't require your attention too much so that you can do them while walking, things like that. Also pre planning your meals before that they can help you not overeat during the day. So those are some of the tips for managing the food during you know, eating at your desk and how to maybe decrease that if not completely not do it. Of course, if you can, maybe you know, doesn't take you that long to eat either. Either way, you know, for 10 minutes, eat somewhere pleasant, where you can enjoy the food and it may make a mess over there and not at your computer.

One last tip that I have, if you do eat at work like I do, what really helps me sometimes to like not overeat and eat a good amount and stop is sometimes after meals for like, let's say I'm like, I'm gonna have a sandwich. And sometimes it's having just like bad enough because I kind of swallow it. And then I'm like doing the work so I didn't even realize it, like ate it, almost what I do is I take a hard candy, like butterscotch or whatever, you know those things they you know, you use them for like 10 minutes and but by the time that 10 minutes are over, you kind of get hungry for the sandwich for other food anymore. So it helps you like not just keep dumping food in your mouth, you know, as you sometimes would while working at a desk. Anyway, those are the tips for eating at your desk and by the way, if you do eat at your desk, then even more so use the what the electronic wipes because your your work environment will be even dirtier.
