So now that you understand how to clear everything away, create space for everything, your desk, for the most part can remain relatively clear. Now what to do with this clear space, what I really like to have and so usually all of us now we have a computer in front of us. Some people might like to have a screen little bit back and maybe a slide out keyboard tray so that you can type and slide it back out and the space in front of you is clear, that's fantastic. Because you can use the creative space in front of you. Maybe when you can have a piece of paper for some brainstorming for jotting down ideas. Maybe you have your to do list in there.
And if you have your computer in front of you like I usually do, I don't have a slide out thing for my work for my for my keyboard. So I just have my laptop right there. I'm typing. In this case, I like to have a piece of paper like right there. Right next to me if I'm right handed if you're left handed Right there. So any ideas, any thoughts, you can quickly quickly note it down.
And I always found that more helpful with a piece of paper. Because some people, you know, they say you can do it digitally. And I always recommend digitally because you know, you want to waste paper. But, um, it was lately I came across the study, I can't find it anymore. But I saw this study that said, I'm writing things down writing notes on a piece of paper is somehow more effective than, you know, noting things digitally. Maybe because you see it maybe the actual act of writing helps you reinforce it.
You know, maybe it's harder to it's easier to fetch your ideas, all you have to do is glance over at your paper. So having a paper next to you and what I do is just scratch papers, like I you know, I collect trash papers, maybe from junk mail or something on the back is usually white so that way I hate kind of wasting paper, I have this like recycling bug. And I know it makes no difference really, if I use you know, like a bite and if I get a notebook or if I just use recycled paper, but I find that you know, I don't use that much that many sheets of paper. So I just all my, like, scratch paper, I just, you know, flip it over and I use it as to take notes and then I recycled that paper, the you know, the junk mail or something.
So, um, so generally I like to keep on my side, so I can always jot things down. And that makes me really productive because I don't lose any ideas. And if whenever I'm like, Huh, what was that if I get too distracted? I'm like, what was I working on? And I can look, oh, this number you know, three and my to do list. Oh, okay.
Let's get back to that. And it keeps me keeps me going really smoothly.
