Now there are plenty of artists who tend to ignore or downplay email when it comes to their overall marketing strategy to communicate with their fans. But then when the platform died, and they hadn't collected their fans, email addresses, they lost that ability to contact those fans and therefore they're living. Think of Facebook. Facebook's been around for a while, but it is losing popularity. And you can't count on them you're renting your space. You're you are not in control of if fans can see your tweets that fans can see your posts, your statuses that you publish the world. You have no control over that because you are renting your space to have an official page on these free platforms when it comes to email You are in charge, you own the emails you collect that list.
And that is why it is very important to have that because as technology changes what you're doing so quickly these days, you want to be able to connect your fans. No matter where you go no matter where things go. With algorithms, like I said, you can't you don't control if Facebook decides to send your posts out for important things, but you can send an email directly to their inbox. Same with ads, you might have to pay organic reach is basically dead at this point. If your favorite platform disappeared tomorrow, what would you do without your fans emails? A little while back as a filming this Instagram and Facebook went dark and full on panic ensued.
Don't be that person. Have your fans emails And lastly, I know I've heard a lot about Snapchat and messenger bots as a replacement for emails. But in my opinion, marketers in the sense of the corporate types are going to ruin this privilege very fast. And then you'll be stuck in your Oh, again. I think email it's tried, it's tested. And everyone has one. This is the best way to communicate with your fans. But the newsletters I've seen other musicians sent are so long and rambly nobody has time for that. There is a difference between newsletters and emails to your fans. newsletters are long and rambly and have a bunch of different links that scatter your fans and confuse them. emails are short to the point and personal No, this is the distinction I want to make.

I don't want to be that. We're artists, we're not leaving corporate. Instead, we are going to take the best parts of both worlds and harness that to create our own special way to make fans feel as great as we know they are
