Here you are, you've gone through the whole course it's time to get up and actually perform, you're gonna do your mega codes don't don't. Again, don't be too concerned with it. You know the stuff you've been studying. If you've also participated in class, you know what to do. The trick is, is to stay calm, and just let things flow as they naturally would. Once again expect to make mistakes, it's fine.
If you make a huge mistake or you totally flub something up, the instructor typically is going to say, okay, hang on, we'll go ahead and do this again later and run other people through. It's just making sure that that the students have have retained the information doesn't have to be perfect. Some things to keep in mind Try to relax. During the mega code scenarios there should be at least four or five people with you rotating through the different stations. So everybody will have the chance of one person will be the team leader. One person will be running the cardiac monitor one person We'll be pushing drugs and starting an IV.
You've also got somebody recording in the corner letting you know when your two minutes cycle is up. And you've also got somebody doing chest compressions and bad mass ventilations. So you need a good five or six people to actually run a great mega code. Again, they don't last very long. Just relax and go through it. Remember, reminder, reminder, whenever you're doing your two minutes cycle, your two minute assessment, not a bad idea to have the people switch from airway back to chest every two minutes.
So we have a fresh body on that chest, that's going to be one of the things that the instructor is really going to be looking for. The other thing they'll be looking for is that communication that closed loop communication when you ask a member of our team to do something, they want to hear that member of the team respond to repeat that back to you the team leader. So those are the things they're really looking for. Again, they don't last very long. And once you've completed the mega codes, the hardest part is over trusted. You've been successful, you're done.
And I usually like to go first just so I get it out of out of my system. But if you're not comfortable going first, then you might want to watch some people do things and a lot of people do that as well. But try and relax. It's not the end of the world. If you make a mistake, there's always time to practice more
