So here's the homepage for the Shopify App Store. This is where you'll get apps to add to your site. Let's take a look at some health apps first. Health apps basically help you manage the performance of your site. The first app we're looking at is the rewrite backups for Shopify app. Basically think of this app as a way of saving your store in case something happens.
Say for example, you had your computer, and your computer crashed and you didn't have a backup of all your files. Now you've lost all that information. Three wind app works similarly for your Shopify store. It keeps a backup of your store and its contents. You'll see that each app has a certain price. This app starts at free, but you can also upgrade to the premium Pro Plus or enterprise accounts.
The next app we'll look at is the plugin SEO app. This is a way to manage your SEO on your site. Another app is the alt text app. This one adds alternate text behind an image. So let's take a look at a screenshot really quick. So this app works by adding all alternate text behind the image.
And it's great for boosting your SEO and sales. One more app to look at is the Lucky Orange app, which basically sees where people are looking at on your site. They've got a feature called heat maps, which shows where your users are clicking the most on your website and the blue area show where they're not clicking. One more thing to look at is the pingdom website speed test. This isn't an app specifically in Shopify, but It's a good way to see how fast your website loads in the browser. The slower your site loads, the less likely customers will be staying or coming back to your store.
The next group of apps, we'll take a look at our apps that can help us improve our store productivity. The first app, we're going to look at his oberlo, which is a drop shipping app. Basically, overload goes to drop shipping sites such as Alibaba or AliExpress, and helps you get products in your store that you can sell if you'd like to dropship webinar flea also offers a list of over 250 dropshippers that you can have access to as well. The next app we're going to look at is printful. A printing and warehousing app. Basically, you could go to printful and generate custom designs for your store.
So this is also similar to a drop shipping app in the terms of like having someone else create the product for you, and ship it for your custom store. Another app to look at is after ship, which just tracking in delivery. If you'd like to have an outside or outside delivery service app, I use after ship on my phone to keep track of all my orders. And basically, you can also send this information to the customer so that they'll get tracking and delivery information as well. The next group of apps, we're going to take a look at our customer service apps. The first app we're looking at is to do live chat.
And basically what this is, is so your screenshot of it. Basically, you'll get like a little circle in the corner of your browser that says hi, how can I help you? And this is how you can basically directly interact with customers that have questions. Another app you can use is the call center app if you want to have a call center for your store. Also, there's the FAQ app, which basically gives you a customized FAQ page, you could basically have any sort of question that your customer might have, and you could generate a drop down list full of answers for your customers to reference when they have questions about your store. So the next group of apps we're going to look at are apps that you can add to your product pages.
The first step we have here is horrify countdown timer. And basically what this does is it adds a countdown timer showing that people are purchasing something, and then might encourage your customers to purchase that product as well. The next app we're looking at is the free shipping bar by hexton. So this will add a bar to the top of your store showing that there's free shipping for orders over x dollar amount. So if you remember what we had for our store, we actually already have appreciate that bar that was built into our store theme. It's important to remember that when you're adding apps to your store, only add what you think is necessary don't add too many apps are also don't become too cluttered.
Similar to the free shipping bar app is a quick announcement bar, obviously, coming back to our theme, we already have this built in, so there's no reason to install these. The next app is the social sharing app. So let's take a look at our store really quick. You'll see that we've got these social sharing buttons here. So that when a customer sees an object in a store that they like, they can share it on their social media accounts as well. The next app we have is better coupon box which creates a pop up on the screen for your customer.
And you can input your discount codes that you've created in your store. And then for me, your customers To use the discount code, they have to input either their social media or email information in order to get the coupon code. So basically, this is a better way to connect with your customers. The next app is the sales pop app. And basically what this does, is whenever your customer comes into your store and purchases an item, they'll get it'll create like a little pop in the corner so other customers can see what other viewers are buying in your store. The final Apple look at in this section is trust.
Trust, basically add seals to your website, showing that your store is certified with certain internet compliances. This app isn't particularly necessary though. The last group of apps we're going to take a look at are retargeting apps. And basically what retargeting is, is getting your customer to come back to your store after they've left. The first app that we're looking at here is MailChimp for Shopify Through this app, using the customer emails that you've gathered in Shopify, you can send email marketing to your customers. So if you ever wanted to update them with new arrivals, or offer them a coupon, you could do this through the MailChimp for Shopify app.
The next app we're going to look at is the beautiful abandoned cart recovery app. And basically, what this allows you to do is create a customized abandoned cart recovery email to your customer. So basically, if the customer had like had items in their cart, but didn't go through a through with a purchase, you could send them an email similar to this, showing them the items that they left in their cart, and adding your logo and matching the branding for your store. The last step we're going to look at is the retarget app. And basically what the retarget app does, is it sends ads to your customers Facebook feeds based on items that they may have clicked on in your store and through this They might come back to your store and make a purchase. So that was all for the app section.
Really quickly, I'm going to go ahead and add one of these apps to my store. I'm going to add, let's see, I'll add the to do live chat app to our store, just so we can see what that looks like. I'm going to click on get. And you'll see that Shopify shows me this page, asking if I want to install this app. And then I'm going to say install. And so this is how I can control the panels in our store.
I'm going to select an option. A live chat, more important, but set a color for our chat. Let's do pink. You We'll choose an avatar, select our language continue. We'll leave our account information here. And we'll add some information about our business.
And continue one more time. And so this is the control area for our chat. Let's go see what this looks like inside our store. So here's our updated store with our chat option installed. And so that's it for the app section. One important thing to remember is when you're adding apps to your store, you don't want to add too many things at once, or else your store will become cluttered.
One or two apps at most is best for an efficiently running store. And the next video, we'll really briefly touch on Some alternative sales channels that you can add to enhance your store as well.
