Stephen Covey from the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, we call it begin with the end in mind. I like to start the life compass discussion with your personal mission statement with your values. And I'm going to share as part of this training, a dedicated podcast that I did on how you can identify your personal values if you don't know what they are. The point here is, it is really, really important that you connect your goals with who you are and who you want to be in what you're passionate about in your life. It must bring your dreams to life. Yeah, remember, in the smart acronym, R stands for relevance.
So start your life compass by just focusing on yourself for a bit and reflecting on where you want to go. What you aspire towards in your life, who do you want to be and what's your future Like, we're going to talk about long term goals. But this is more about your core values and your guiding principles in life. So, take this time for yourself and write down your personal mission statement. Your life conference gives you some examples and also some tools. If you really don't know how to do this.
For me, the format here is really irrelevant. This section of your life compass is just to help you reconnect, view and weave your life. When you get this, you're you have the right mindset to start talking about goals, because now, you're sure that there's going to be relevance.
