This video will be about tarot reading layouts. I'll be covering two different layouts today, the three card spread and the Celtic cross spread. So this is the basic three card spread. You shuffle the cards, and either you or the client will pick three cards, and you place them in order that they choose them. One is past, two is present. Three is future.
So the card that's in the past position will discuss the past of whatever the question is for the person asking. Number two, we'll discuss what's going on right now. In regarding your question, and number three, will tell a possible future as the outcome based on what's been talked about on the past card and the present card, it's a possible outcome. I say possible because we are in control of our lives, and we can change the future based on what we decide. This is just a guide, and it's a great way way if you just have to do a quick tarot reading, you have a quick question you want to do it for yourself. This is usually how I do it for myself, it's a great way to have a quick reading with a quick answer.
The Celtic cross spread is a very popular, it's the most known one in Tarot, and it gets more in depth. So if you really want to get in depth, and really look at your question, the Celtic cross spread will basically cover it all. So if you look at the picture here, you'll see that card one will be where you are right now. So that would be like a present card. Basically the card kind of representing your question in a way, the crossing card will be number two, which is the potential challenges so that whatever that card talks about will represent potential challenge. Number three, will be what you should be focusing on.
Number four, we'll talk about the past. Card five, we'll talk about your strengths Card six we'll talk about your near possible future. Cards seven discusses a suggested approach how to how to approach whatever your question is about. Are there questions about rather? Number eight, what you need to know. Card nine will represent the hopes and fears again regarding the question and card 10 your potential future, the outcome of everything, again, potential because we are in control of our own lives, and we can change our future based on the decisions we make.
This is a three card spread I did for a person remaining anonymous. Obviously, they didn't have a question, but they were going through a lot of stress personally and in their relationship at the time of the reading. The first card is the past card where they got the king of swords. This card can represent a person who is very well liked and very persuasive due to their great personality and helping nature for the questioner this represented their spouse coming into their lives and the trust they put into that person at the time. The second card representing the present is the knight of swords reversed. This shows the breakdown of the relationship when the perspective of the questioners spouse changed from one who cares to one who doesn't consider their feelings.
The future card the third one turned out to be a karma card, a major arcana card. This is what the questioner will learn from this experience. The devil reversed assured this person they would learn to get their life on track again, and learn to overcome what is upsetting them at this time. When giving a tarot reading for the purpose of helping someone you don't need to be psychic. Look at the cards and the meanings and the placements. The questioner will tell you if it is accurate to their experience is clear in this reading, that what the questioner is going through at this time is a learning experience that they will benefit from Just alone brought them comfort.
Sometimes that is all it takes to change your perspective to a more positive one. I hope this helps. Thank you. Here's the sample reading of the Celtic cross spread that was done for the same question or as the three cards spread. Now we get more into the issue. The first card representing where they were at at the moment in life that they did the question is the eight of pentacles reversed.
This says that the person was feeling very uninspired at the time very low, which was accurate. The Crossing card which represents the potential challenges of the current situation is the Hierophant. I always read this card in the upright position, because it can't be reversed in this spread. It looks like another karmic lesson for the questioner here. This card represents learning and also helping others. This is a message to the person to learn from this experience and turn it into something good like Helping others as well as making sure they seek help for themselves as well.
The third card underneath is what to what to focus on right now. The card in this position was the three of cups this card represents the beginning of a relationship. This card was clearly telling the person to focus on the start of the relationship with things were happy, almost like a reminder not to forget the good time. The fourth card to the left is the past card in this reading, represented by the sun reversed. A karmic past lesson about feeling stuck in bad times has already been learned. The questioner can think back to this lesson and try and learn from it to help them in their current situation.
Card five on top represents the strength of the questioner being represented in the five of swords. The card itself represents a lack of sensitivity for others, the questioner let me know that they are very good at sensing this behavior in others, so it was validated. Card six to the right is the new Future up to six months usually is the timeline for this position. The card here is the knight of cups reversed. It represents emotions not being shared equally between two people and fear of failure or being hurt. This outcome makes sense if things are not worked on and the question is relationship.
Card seven on the bottom left is a suggested approach to the issue. The card here is the six of cups reversed. This card represents clinging to the past and not letting go of something hurtful. The questioner shared that this was accurate as they were struggling to forgive their spouse for a past hurt. The suggested approach here is to turn that card around and find a way to let it go. Card eight above it is what the questioner needs to know.
The card here is the six of pentacles this card represents generosity, renewed hope and learning from the past. This is exactly what the questioner needs to do to move on. I found it amazing how these cards just flowed together and that happens a lot. The ninth card above that is the hopes and fears of the questioner. The card here is the four of pentacles. Jealousy is what this card represents.
As well as fear of letting go. This card falls right into place with all the other cards talking about this letting go issue, the questioner confirmed that they are afraid they won't be able to let go of the pain that they were feeling. The last card on top of that represents the potential future in all of this, the queen of cups came up here. This card represents a sensitive person loving, nurturing, nurturing, rather, who fights for what they believe in without shame. The question are really related to this card. This card is the potential future of this person, they can get back to the strong, happy, loving person they used to be and want to be if they take the advice of the cards in this reading.
Letting go of pain is hard. Sometimes the answers we are looking for are inside of us. We just can't reach them. Tarot is a way to bring these inner knowing feelings out for you to see the questioner felt validated and more confident to seek ways to make things right in their life.
