Greetings, I'm Professor Kay. And in this short video presentation, we're going to see how we go about deleting an object that is currently protected from accidental deletion inside of our Active Directory Users and Computers. In this example, I want to get rid of the test users organizational unit as I no longer needed. If I right click, and I select Delete, it gives me the option and the warning. Are you sure you want to delete this organizational unit? If I say yes, it comes up and it gives me this message saying that you do not have sufficient privileges to delete test users.
Or this object is protected from accidental deletion. I say OK to that. Now, to delete this test user's organizational container, I first need to change my view. So I'm going to go up to the taskbar, I'm going to go to View and I'm going to select Advanced Features. From here, I'm going to find the object that is currently protected from accidental deletion. inside of my Active Directory, I'm going to right click, and I'm going to select Properties.
From here, I'm going to go to the objects tab. And down here, if I uncheck this box that will remove that protection. I say Apply. Say, OK. Now when I go back over here to test users, and I right click, and I select that I want to delete this container and I say yes, the container can now be deleted.
