The best stories use all five senses. You want to make your audience see where you are. You want to make them feel what you are feeling if something's hot or painful, let them know. If there's a sickeningly sweet smell, are you There's fire. Smell it. Let your audience really feel like they're experiencing it smelling it.
Are you touching something that's bumpy harsh? Is it cold metal because it's a gun next to your neck that don't make up stuff. Don't feel like you have to be as overly dramatic as a gun. It could be. You're simply sitting at your boring desk job and you're feeling how cold the desk is. But let people feel it.
How does it feel? How does it taste? How does it smell? How does it sound? We need to hear the difference in the voices of the characters. In your story, use all five senses and you'll be much more powerful in your stories with your audience.
