As we explore mindfulness, we present the following guidelines. Being able to be fully present in our lives and at work, and practice mindfulness, which is the ability to remove ourselves emotionally from triggers that may lead us to negative behaviors, or to emotions that are not in our best interest depends upon several things. Number one, you must know who you really are, or at least be willing to explore your dreams. Although there are practical considerations such as having to pay bills, knowing that you are working towards something bigger, that will bring you happiness later, such as a more flexible job, or creating new credentials to perform a different job can also make you more able to weather the storms in your current work environment. You will also learn more about this in our section on finding your potential number two, practicing the meditations in this course over and over will make them float easier and in time will become more natural to you.
You will find what works for you and what doesn't. You should get used to monitoring your stress and emotional levels to discover how you feel when using the different meditations. Number three, our meditations will either walk you through different situations, such as preparing for a challenging meeting, or provide you with a basis to help balance your life, such as in being grounded. Mindfulness is a state of mind where you feel the connection to all things. Rather than having a feeling of being set apart from everything and everyone. Even in a difficult and stressful time.
You will have created the skills to weather the storm and see the situation from a higher perspective. Science is proving that mindfulness is definitely a positive skill to possess. MRI scan show that after practicing mindfulness for eight weeks, the fight or flight region of the brain appears to shrink areas of the brain that help our attention and concentration are strengthened. Thought and reason supersede emotion and stress. The range of possibilities for the areas of your life that mindfulness exercises improves is limitless. From your health, to your happiness, to the way you deal with life.
Mindfulness is a simply positive experience.
