Hopefully in your everyday work scenario you get along with your co workers, your clients, your customers, your employer or employee. But sometimes we're forced into a situation where we have to work with a difficult person. And it's easy to become angry, resentful, and impatient, particularly when we're facing tight deadlines for working in a high stress environment. That other times it may be that we're working with somebody who just annoys us for no apparent reason, or that our personalities just don't match. So the purpose of this next affirmation is to bring more compassion understanding into this workplace and into your dealings with this typical person. You don't have to suddenly become their best friend, though that could happen.

But you can create a more positive atmosphere and a better environment when you're working together. While I refer to this as the we're all in this together, affirmation, it's fruits actually come from two different Buddhist meditations. One is often referred to as the just like knee meditation. And the other is known as a metta meditation or loving kindness meditation. with them, we seek to recognize that we as humans have similar challenges in life. And it helps us to develop compassion understanding.

We also seek to send well being to others and to ourselves. And by using this variation, we can apply this specifically to a work environment to create a more positive atmosphere. So go ahead and get comfortable and when you're ready, we'll begin. Begin by taking a few deep breaths. inhale through the nose, and exhale through the nose. If it's helpful take a giant cleansing breath Take a deep inhale through the nose, open your mouth and sigh it out.

You can do this anytime throughout the meditation that you need to. And then resume inhaling and exhaling through the nose. Begin to settle in and relax into your space. When you're ready, I'd like you to call to mind one person at work with whom you have a conflict. If there is more than one person, choose one person to focus on. Take a few more deep breaths.

Remaining calm and centered. Imagine that this person is standing or sitting in front of you right now. Take note of what they look like. What are they wearing? What is the expression on their face? Try to gently step away from any emotions that may surface as you think of this person.

Try to observe them without judgment. As we begin, remember that this person is in your life for a reason. In work and in life, we're all in this together, working together for common goals. As we go through the following statements, you may choose to simply listen and reflect on them. repeat them to yourself in your mind, or repeat them out loud. There'll be a pause after each one.

Let's begin. Just like me, this person experienced thoughts and emotions. Just like me, this person has experienced physical and emotional pain. Just like me, this person has felt the effects of stress. They have been angry, sad, hurt and confused. Just like me, this person has felt fear and worry.

They have felt inadequate and insecure. Just like me, this person has felt loneliness and despair. Just like me, this person has made mistakes. We all seek forgiveness and understanding. pause for a moment to reflect on these messages. Let's continue.

Just like me, this person wants to be happy. We all deserve to be happy. Just like me, this person wants to be healthy. We all deserve to be healthy. Just like me, this person wants to feel safe and secure. We all deserve to feel safe and secure.

Just like me, this person wants to feel loved. We are all worthy of love. Just like me, this person wants to succeed and live an abundant life. We all deserve abundance and success. Continue to imagine this person sitting or standing across from you as you reflect on these messages, and the affirmations that will now follow. Once again, you may choose to simply listen.

Repeat them in your head or repeat them out loud. May we be happy May we be healthy? May we be safe. May we enjoy peace and abundance. May we work together for a common goal. pause here and take a few more deep breaths.
