In this section, you're going to learn about tasks. I'll walk you through the Tasks tab some ribbons, I'll show you how to create tasks, create recurring tasks, and also to create a task from an email message, updating your task progress. How do you keep your tasks always in view on your sidebar, and then we'll go over how to print out your tasks. Let's start by going over the tabs and ribbons. So let's go ahead and open up outlook. Let's make sure we're working within the task app itself.
And let's start at the very top with the File tab. Just like all the other applications, the File tab takes you into backstage, once you click on it, it's going to give you the options to open an export, save as print. You can also set up your automatic replies, and manage rules and alerts from here. Let's go back to our tabs and ribbons and we'll take a look at the home tab. Just like when you're in any of the other applications. It's your default tab.
The Home tab contains the most useful functions and features for the application. Within the new group, we can create our new task, send a new email, or complete other new items, such as appointments and meetings. We can delete items from our to do list. From here, we can respond, manage our tasks. Follow up by setting a flag, we can change our view from the current view group. From the actions group, we can move to other folders, or work with one node.
From our tags group, we can categorize set importance and privacy. From the group's group, we can create a new group or browser groups and finally from the find group, we can search our address book. The send and receive tab deals mostly with email and within the send and receive group we can send and receive on all of our folders from the download group we can look at the progress for the send and receive if we move over to the folder tab. From here we can create a new folder we can open up a share tests and we can also share out tasks from the view folder, we can change our current view, we can change the arrangement of our tasks within our to do list, and we can also preview messages from here. Those are the basics of the ribbons. So in the next lecture, we'll go ahead and start working on creating our tasks.
