In this section, you're going to learn all about contacts. We'll start by going over the tabs and ribbons that are available while in the contact app. And then we'll move on to creating new contacts, including creating a contact from an email you received. I'll also walk you through editing contacts, will then create a contact group, and also a group. Now there is a difference between the two. And we'll go over there as we move along.
I'll show you how to share your contacts. And then I'll show you how to print out your contacts. Let's open up outlook and get started on the tabs and ribbons. Make sure you're on the Contacts app. And we'll start at the very top with file and go into backstage. Now, just like with our other apps, the backstage allows us to open an export information, print, and also do our automatic replies and manage our rules and alerts.
Let's go back to our tabs and ribbons and we'll take a look at the home tab. This again is your default tabs. So no matter what app you go into, the Home tab will always be default. But depending on which app You're in, the commands will change. And so because we're in the contact app, we've now got the Home tab for contacts. Under our new group, we can create a new contact.
And again, we've still got the options to create other new items as well. And here's where we come to create our new group and our new contact group. We can delete contacts from here. From the communicate group, we can do emails and meetings, we can also change our view, share our contacts, open any Shared Contacts we have, and also create tags for our contacts. Let's click on the Send receive tab. And again, this focuses mostly on our email, it's where we would come to force to send receive and also to see the progress, click on the folder tab.
And this is where we would create a new folder, copy our folders, share our contacts again and open Shared Contacts. From here, we could also set up our folder permissions. And the last tab is view and this is again where we would come to change our current view. So if we wanted to switch the order of our contacts, we could do that from here as well. And also arrange it by categories, companies, locations and so forth. So that's a brief overview of the tabs and ribbons available within the context.
In the next lecture, we'll begin creating new contacts.
