Okay, welcome to lesson number 18 the link between the mind and the body. Now so far we have been talking a tremendous amount about our thought process. In the last lesson we even talked about how I went through and I stumbled across the ghost and micro step process, and how I was able to take control of my thought process by every motor can function in my body. And when I did that, I was actually able to reverse the feelings that I was having inside my body. Now in this lesson, what we're going to do is we're going to draw upon the link between the mind which is composed of the conscious mind the end unconscious mind and the primal mind and the body. Now when I started to actually feel really good and get rid of the feeling of anxiety, I was fascinated by what was actually happening inside me.

So I went on this additional quest to go inside the body and and I started to learn a tremendous bout the hormones, and how that affects us. But I also started to study the gut. And we talked about the third chakra and how that is our our power center, and how it is referred to, you know, our lifeforce by a lot of different cultures. So what I wanted to do is, you know, I wanted to find out what was actually happening to me, why was I experiencing this wonderful reversal? And so, lesson 18 and 19 are gonna kind of be combined a little bit. And I'm going to kind of review a couple different things, but I'm going to introduce a couple additional things.

Now we talked about how when we feel threat We'd feel rejection that this is based upon our coding. And this is kind of created a pathway that happens very easily now when we experienced that beat, that feeling of rejection or that feeling of dread. And we talked about the release of the hormones that go from the hypothalamus down into the the adrenal glands, and it releases the cortisol and the adrenaline. Now, when we have the feeling in our gut, obviously, you know, that is part of that process. And so when I started to study the gut, what I really found out was, I was able to actually heal my body in a lot of different ways. Now, I went through a transformation, where I lost about 130 pounds over the course of a few years.

But in the last couple of years, when I really started to gain control over my anxiety, my weight went down to Do you know what my high school football weight was or my high school wrestling weight was, and I started to learn about a hormone or neurotransmitter, depending on what doctor you talk to, or scientists that you talk to you is Hello refer to we're gonna call it a hormone. But it's serotonin. Now there's a direct link between the mind and the body. And so since we live in our body, and we can control the mind, I realized that when I controlled my mind, my body was actually able to heal and I was able to lose weight without exercising without dieting, without a lot of different things that I had done in the past. So we know that there is our fight and flight mechanism, and we've referred to this as part of the primal mind going out there.

And we could also say that this is part of the sympathetic nervous system. And you know, I always find that word nervous is kind of funny because, you know, when people say, Oh, you look nervous or or they say, I don't know. This obviously because this is the nerves now there is something called the vagus nerve that connects from our primal mind down to our guts into our third chakra area, our power center. And there's a hormone that's called serotonin. Now serotonin we're going to talk about here in just a little bit, but I want to talk about the parasympathetic or the autonomic nervous system in a way, because this is our rest and recovery. Remember, we talked about that when you receive that that surge of fight or flight and freeze, there has to be a recovery time.

And this typically is the serotonin levels, and serotonin levels or our parasympathetic in our unconscious mind kind of creates this in our body, where now we get to rest and recover. And we talked about the unconscious mind and how this is also referred to as our emotional mind. Now our emotions we feel in our body, we don't feel emotions in our Our head, we feel it in our body when we cry, you know, tears of sadness or anger or what have you, these are exhibited in the body. And so what I started to do is I started to really study how our gut is actually known as our second brain. So we have the brain, which is the organ in our, our, our head in our skull, but we also have second brain and that's in our gut. So when we talk about the higher Faculty of intuition, for example, we refer to that is, well I have a gut feeling that I shouldn't do this or I have a gut feeling that something's good gonna happen or a gut feeling that something bad is gonna happen.

Now, this is actually felt right in our third chakra. And so, you know, Eastern philosophy says that when you Your third chakra is out of balance, you know, you don't feel very good. And in Western philosophy when it's out of balance, you know, you also don't feel very good. And so one of the things that I have learned how to do is how to listen to my body. And when my body is not feeling well, or if I feel like I'm just getting butterflies or a little bit of nervous nervousness, you know, I'm starting to wonder, okay, what is my body trying to tell me? Is it trying to warn me about dangers, or trying to warn me about something I need to do?

Is it trying to prepare me for doing something really good? Well, regardless, it is communicating with me. And so if that is the case, just like we want to take care of our mental health, we also want to take care of our physical health. So I did create an entire course. And I've been working with individuals on how to lose weight and that's called the ideal body image. So I want to talk about the importance of our gut and our third chakra, and our serotonin.

Now Sarah donut is one of those hormones that could be referred to as our happy chemical. It regulates her mood when we feel good, you know, it's the serotonin levels. Now serotonin, approximately 90% of the serotonin in our bodies is created in our gut. Now here's the thing when we have body aches and it doesn't matter if it's in your fingers or your toes or your wrists or your ankles, when you have a lot of serotonin levels or a healthy serotonin levels or in Eastern philosophy, if your third chakra is in balance, did you feel good, your body feels good, you know the aches and pains go away a lot of that chronic pain gets dissipated. And so our brain functions, our mental health. And so we know that when we look at serotonin in the body, The body communicates to the brain and the brain communicates back to the body.

So and there are a lot of different disorders out there like anxiety that we've been talking about. That's what this this course is about, is out of whack. We really need to focus and take care of our bodies. And there's a few things that are recommendations that I'm going to give you. But you know, when we have, if you know people that have obsessive compulsive disorders or post traumatic stress disorders, phobias, and even epilepsy, we could actually look at the gut, and the gut has healthy bacteria in it and that bacteria needs to be at a certain level. And the reason why is so that it can help produce serotonin and so serotonin plenty, some very critical roles on how we feel for example, our appetite, our digestion, whether we can have healthy bowel movements or regular bowel movements.

Bone Help, you know you can have too much serotonin. And but most people who exhibit anxiety have very low levels of serotonin. So when we have very low levels of serotonin, that also imagine when that that threat happens, then you have a low serotonin level if serotonin is your normal, happy chemical, obviously that threat is going to be much more exacerbated and seem much more potent than if you were normally healthy and you solve the same threat you you'd be able to respond a little bit differently. But it also affects our sleep patterns. It affects our our sex. You know, people who I work with that have very low libido or in their relationships where they just don't have that drive anymore.

I mean, think of that when you don't have a healthy sex drive in your power Center is a low or your life centers Lowe may think of the power of treating tiny humans out there, when you want to procreate, that takes energy to do so. And so you don't have to just procreate children to have energy to procreate other things in your life, to stimulate your creativity to go out and have the gusto to go do something amazing work, just sometimes to roll out of bed and go to work. So, you know, we want to focus on gut bacteria and serotonin. And one of the things too, when I used to own a treatment center, and a pain clinic, we know that people who were given lots of pills to sleep or sometimes pills, sometimes synthetic chemicals, it would kind of throw their bodies into whack so sometimes maybe they would sleep okay, but then their, their sex drive went away or they just the desire to do anything went away.

So the Purpose of everything that I'm talking about is so that we can naturally feel our bodies naturally take care of our bodies and do things so that we can, we can find the balance in our third chakra find the balance and a healthy gut. So you know, we we talked about. And I really want to reiterate the fact that serotonin is our happy chemical. And that link between low levels of serotonin comes a lot through the bacteria. And so we want to focus on eating well. So I'm going to spend a little bit of time talking about taking care of yourself.

And in the next lessons, we're going to talk about some other techniques and exercises that you do when you don't experience anxiety. The very best thing to take care of anxiety when it's happening in the moment is the technique of the motor function and taking control of the motor decisions and control of those stops. process through the desert ghost in Microsoft method. But we want to make sure that when we're not exhibiting yet that we're taking care of our bodies properly. And, you know, a proper way to even get better sleep is through melatonin. Well, melatonin, you've probably heard about that a lot of people take that.

But quite frankly, that is just a precursor to serotonin. And so if you take excess melatonin, but your serotonin levels are not in order, it's not going to function properly and it's not going to do what what you want it to do, and that is to go to sleep naturally normally now I have to tell you this about my sleep for many, many, many years. My sleep patterns were horrible for over 20 years. And I would have insomnia so bad that sometimes I would go two or three days without sleeping and then I would crash really, really hard. And that was my normal cycle. And I consider that, as you know, that was just how I am.

Now I was able to get a lot of things done. But all I was miserable. And it led to tremendous amounts of increased cortisol levels, and my weight got up to over 300 pounds. So it wasn't healthy. I had a heart attack in my 30s. You heard me mention that earlier.

So we definitely want to make sure that we're working, we're taking care of our serotonin levels and our gut bacteria. Now, when we are in order, and we have a perfect balance in our third chakra or in our gut health, here are some some ideas that you can look at to evaluate that your body is talking to you. And if your body is talking to you in this manner, then know that when anxiety happens or the threat happens, or the rejection happens when those things happen, if your body is already kind of weakened or in a state of weakened Things it is going to be a lot worse. So bowel functions, normal bowel movement. Since serotonin is created mostly in the nerves in our digestive tract and in our our nervous end up let's just call it our nervous system from from a layman's standpoint, we know that the gastrointestinal tract needs that in order to have a good healthy appetite, but in order for the movement through our bowel system to digest properly, and we know that remember from lesson five when we talked about when adrenaline goes into and cortisol happens it shuts down all the non essential functions and sometimes you know, digestion is a non essential function when our life is in danger or the perceived threats in danger.

So if you're not having an Normal bowel movement properly then that is a sign that you're probably in some type of state of pre stress or pretty anxiety and that's because your serotonin levels may be low. Your mood obviously is not doing very well. You're just kind of angry and people who are always kind of just run angry and just kind of seem on the edge of the time could be serotonin levels. And serotonin levels also affect our blood, the ability to clot the blood so if you are bleeding excessively was a little cuts. You know, that also may happen. If you're always kind of feeling sick people who have irritable bowel syndrome or people who have a lot of gas, people just that feeling of nausea their tummies are not feeling very well.

Well, it's probably because you're eating a very poor diet that doesn't help stimulate the production of serotonin. Alright and then Of course, we talked about sexual dysfunction. And, you know, I would dare say that a lot of people who, you know, have anxiety and depression, probably, you know, a lot of statistics show that 20 to 70% of the people who experience anxiety and depression or stress, have also a very low libido and have some sexual dysfunction. So, our diet, what you eat is very, very important. So I'm just going to give you some ideas on how I've switched my eating patterns. And obviously it is directly proportionate to my low level of anxiety and to the fact now almost where I really don't exhibit anxiety very much and if I do, I'm able to overcome it with my mind, but I have changed a lot of my diet.

And so you need to choose foods or to add in foods that have probiotics and probiotics are natural how The bacteria some of the things is the number one yogurt. And so, I eat a lot of Yoker that tried to eat some yogurt every day. And, you know, there are different flavors of yogurt, you know. So that kind of depends on you but choose something that that has not killed the bacteria in it. I keefer something that's very common for a lot of people, people who have irritable bowel syndrome. You know, that is a good recommendation that a lot of doctors do this.

The doctors that work for me in my clinic, that's what they would recommend, you know, very different things that we're fermented through lactic acid and some of these things you may not like, but like cambogia, temperatures, very, very good. Sauerkraut, pickles, some buttermilk, and certain cheeses. Now I'm a big fan of cheese. So I love Jesus but not all cheeses have a good healthy probiotics but certainly here in America did Jesus We eat mostly are cheddar, mozzarella and Gouda. If you're in Europe, you know, I lived in Europe for quite some time. There's a lot of really good probiotic yogurts, but not all of them are.

So you just need to kind of pay attention to that. Alright, so all of these things function based upon the connection between the brain, the primal brain specifically, and the gut and that is something called the nerve are the Vegas nerve. Now we're going to talk more about the NIC Vegas nerve and how important that is in relieving stress and relieving anxiety in our next lesson. So for right now, go ahead and fill out your workbook and I will see you in the next lesson.
