Alright, so now, we are also going to look at how we can reduce or manage noise. What I mean by noise is that, like most apps and websites and services that you use, you're bound to get a lot of notifications. In Trello, to find revocations, you go for the bell icon on the top right, which is here. And at the moment, it assumes that I've read everything so you don't see anything right now. But typically, you'll be bombarded with a lot of details and information as you move cards around, you change cards around, you remove lists, and so on and so forth. So this is also going to be tied to your email and hopefully Frequently, you'll receive information about Trello and notification via your email, which can get very hectic very fast.
So you can click here to change the notification. Right now by by default, I've set it to instantly. So whenever I change something, whether I change the title of the card, I change the label, I remove the due date. I'll get emailed, notified. So you can imagine on a daily basis, or even on a minute by minute basis, that's just too much information, you get information overload. So we can easily change this to be less or just completely zero emails.
I like to keep it to zero, simply because I believe in reducing the amount of emails I get, whether it's my personal emails, my work emails, I only want to see things that are very important. So I find that Trello notifications is not going to be a good thing for my productivity and my efficiency, simply because I use Trello to reduce email not to increase the number of emails, but that's just me. You can leave it on however you want. Maybe you're a type who wants to have double verification, you want to have a long audit trail of everything you do. So go ahead if you don't. So another way you can get more notifications or less than vacations is the watch function.
So the watch function is at every card. When you go into the details of the card, you'll find a watch action button. It says here, watch the cart, get notifications, when something changes, you can easily disable that. And that will then reduce the amount of notification and emails as well. The other thing to note is that, as I mentioned before, you can also watch lists. So by clicking the top right button of the list, select watch.
And you have an indication right here, which is a creepy looking eyeball. So that shows you that you are now watching this particular list. You can easily disable that just like most things in Trello by selecting it again and the eyeball goes away. So it's pretty straightforward, but it's also very important. Like I mentioned before, I'm against having too many emails. That there's just too much clutter in my life.
And Trello is meant to reduce emails and I just want to share with all of you how you can manage that in your own way.
