Okay, in this video, we're going to have a look at how we can create cards in Trello. Cards are like sticky notes, if you think about it, they are representative of tasks. So one cart represents one task. And usually, there's a rule of thumb where one card should represent a task that's in a certain size. So when you start a project when you're organizing your project, you should be breaking down tasks in a certain way, so that it fits a certain size that can have a balance between representing something that's measurable and also minimizing information overload. So can have a look at that by going through a few examples.
So for example in my to do list today, I'm going to add a card, you can click Add card and start typing in the name or the tasks that you want to do. Let's say cook dinner I'll create another one called pick up kits. And another one, cleaning up the kitchen. So you can go on and on. There's no limit to how many cards can add in a single list. So basically in Kanban, methodology, cards and tasks, usually flow from left to right.
If you notice, each list represents a status. And the cards are the tasks are grouped together under a specific list. So to update a card, you can hold your mouse button on the card and then drag it across just like how you drag the list and then let go. So the idea here is that if you're doing something, if you're picking up a task, you should update Trello by putting one of your cards into doing so the doing list is similar to in progress, similar to what you are working on at the moment. Then once the task is done, you can then click and drag your task two done. It's that simple.
You can keep doing This for multiple carts, you can have multiple carts in the in progress or doing this. And in Trello, you're allowed to move back and forth if needed. Now you can also delete cards by selecting this pencil icon and selecting archive. You can also copy a card rather than typing in all the information all over again, by selecting the pencil icon and clicking on copy. Here there'll be a pop up menu where you can rename that the card that you want to copy if needed. So for example, I might see Pick up cat.
So I don't have to type the first two words, saves time, then you click Create card. But if you want more control, you can even customize whether you want to copy this to another board. Maybe you want to put this to another list. And you can also position it first, second third. So the bigger number, the lower the position of the cart would be. So for example, let's move this to position number three.
I'm going to copy this to doing and maintain it in this board. So click Create. And there you go. We've duplicated the card. I've edited the word kids and replaced it with cat. So it's pick up Kept, and I've copied it to another list and that's it.
