Let's just cut to the chase. What are the two top problems in the vast vast majority of sales presentations and probably 99.9% of failed sales presentations? Well, the number one problem is that it's just a massive data dump. It's a feature feature feature feature fact fact fact Fact number. Lots and lots of data. It's a massive data dump.
And the prospect is just sort of, it's overwhelming. The eyes glaze over. Too much of it sounds like what your competitors say. And it's not memorable. That's the number one problem in most sales presentations. The second largest problem is a really awful PowerPoint slide that in a text way, in a numbers way, commits the very same problem that the first problem was way too much data.
Way too many numbers. Too many facts nothing particularly visual or interesting. And again, I'm all in favor of PowerPoint, and I'm going to give you tips on how to use PowerPoint effectively. But those are the two big problems, too much of a big data dump. Not enough case studies, stories, examples. And really bad PowerPoint slides that put everybody to sleep because it's too much data.
If you can simply avoid those two problems. You're going to be so far ahead of the pack. It's not even funny. You're not even going to have to be great with everything else. Although we want you to be great. You are going to stand out from your competitors.
So whatever you do, don't commit the two most common blunders of sales presentations.
