So you've recorded the first presentation, you've come up with your list of things you like things you don't like, I want you to do the whole presentation again, including mock questions from investors, someone on your team will have to stand in for them. And I want you to really look at the strengths that you had in the previous one, the weaknesses, I want you to do more of the things you liked. I want you to do less of the stuff you don't like. and review it again. Now, if you like this one, and you're confident that you look your best, you sound your best. You like the substance, you like how you're presenting it, and you're happy, that's great, you're ready to go.

No more need for rehearsal. However, if you're not completely comfortable with every aspect of style and substance, I need you to practice again, on video, do more of the stuff you liked. do less of the stuff you don't like. keep doing it until you pass the following test. It's not TJs test And it's not just your investment bankers test. It's your test.

I want you to keep practicing your roadshow presentation until you can point to the video and love it and say, Wow, that's a great presentation. I like that person style. I like the substance that sounds like a great business, I would invest. After hearing a presentation like that. If I weren't already in the company. I want you to have that sort of reaction.

Maybe it will take just one more practice. Maybe it'll take 20 Guess what? I don't care how many it takes investors don't care. They just want your best. But if you have a prospectus that's been through spellcheck, and there's still 20 typos, if you have a PowerPoint deck and there's still 15 typos, do you tell people well, you know, we're at a time we don't really want to spend any more time doing spellcheck, just send it as it as is would you do that? I don't think so.

And yet people have this attitude that the speech the part I'm speaking is good enough. I want you to feel like it's great. I don't mean perfect in the sense of, there's never an R. That's okay. But I don't want you to look at the video of your own presentation say, Oh my God, that's boring. I'm glad I don't have to listen to me. That shouldn't be your reaction at all.

I want you knowing how you come across your best that you've got good material that you've got a great story and that you're conveying in your style. With your feeling with your emotion, with your emphasis, not my style. Not Steve Jobs style or Warren Buffett style, but your style, but the best style you have. If you do that, guess what it becomes impossible to be nervous when giving a presentation. The reason people get nervous is thinking, I might not be good, I might be boring these people I might not be making sense Well, there is a danger that you are boring people. If your head is just down, you're reading the numbers.

So I need you to feel good about this. This is the ultimate test because you've seen Let's face it, thousands of boring presentations in your life. The world doesn't need another one, you know, a good one and a bad one. When you see it, and you hear it. So that's your final lesson here. Keep practicing your IPO roadshow presentation until you can look at the video and be happy with the whole thing.
