It's time to practice your PowerPoint presentation for the roadshow. But here's what I'd like you to please bear with me. You're probably not going to have other advisors suggesting this but it will help dramatically with your presentations, your overall image and reputation. I would like you to practice just your opening two minutes. What you want to say to investors without showing the first slide, I want you to get into the habit of really explaining it showing them you're the authority, you're the expert. You're interesting, you're a strong communicator and you can look at them.
I understand if you feel for the rest of the presentation. You really got to stay on the strict and narrow and be looking at slides and PowerPoint because if you don't, your lawyers are gonna come zap you and you'll never be seen from again. I understand that fear. But I want to stress you can still make fun tactic, image for yourself reputation for yourself, just in the first two minutes first impressions are very powerful. And whether you're given 30 minutes for your presentation, or as little as 10 minutes, there's still two minutes for you to start by looking at investors, look them in the eye. Tell them what this business does.
Tell them how you make money. Tell them why you're excited about it, and what you're going to do for future growth. Let them see that in your eyes and the passion coming out of you, before you sort of turn into the butler for the PowerPoint slides. So that's my first bit of homework for you. Let's practice your opening two minutes without a single second, not anti PowerPoint, you got to have PowerPoint. But let's have the first two minutes where you're practicing on video and I want you to critique it.
I want you to tell me what you like what you don't like create a list, likes and don't likes for your opening two minutes.
