PowerPoint. I know, you know what to do with PowerPoint. PowerPoint is so boring. It's so awful. But what do you do if all the other colleagues in your office or your organization are using PowerPoint and you feel pressure? To use PowerPoint?
Well, I'm going to give you some tips to make this easy, painless, so you can just get through it. Okay? Again, there's the hard way, the easy way, the hard ways to do it. Most people do gather lots and lots and lots of data. Rearrange all the bullet points on a PowerPoint program, change the font Messer next thing, you know, you spent 30 hours on it. And it's this god awful stew.
And if you sat there and read it, your eyes would glaze over and everyone would fall asleep. I don't want to do that to you. Because again, we're just trying to be above average. But if we do that we're going to be right at average or below average. We want to get through this and still accomplish our goals. So here's what I would recommend.
Let's go back to your outline. You have 500 points, you have five sentences, you've got an example for each one, I want you to come up with some visual. That makes the point. So if you're talking about sales are down at all this because freezers didn't sell, have a picture of just that freezer. And then maybe, you know, outside snow, so people realized it was too cold to buy the freezers in the winter quarter. And you can do this by just go to Google, type in the word hit images, and then pick one that's rights free, where it's okay for you to use it, not violate copyright and stick that in your PowerPoint.
You're good to go project that. So if you have five ideas, that would mean five slides. Now. You're probably thinking well, I teach you if I do that people are going to complain that I was frivolous. I didn't have all my substance behind me. So here's what you do to avoid criticism.
All that data you would normally put in the PowerPoint project. Get The data, put it in either a Word document or a PDF, it doesn't matter and hand it to people or pass it out. Do that and you'll be in good shape. do that right now.
